Just (finally) finished Jaws of Hakkon, and I have to ask...

...why were people acting like there was no companion content in this DLC? I played primarily with Dorian, Sera and Bull and the three of them were total chatterboxes. It was actually kind of jarring, after how sparse companion content was in the base game. It reminded me a lot more of the amount of companion interaction in Legacy.

Anyway, it was really good. Moving on to The Descent.

I noticed the same thing. I held off buying it because I heard it was story light and there was barely any companion interaction but grabbed it on sale and it was better than Descent, for sure. I mean I would have hoped for new conversations with companions but it was better than people made out. I think we've all been spoiled by ME: Citadel.

How much of that was banter from the base game though? Because apparently the Frostback Basin is the only zone that has banter trigger properly... but they can't fix the other zones <_<

Some of it might have been from the base game, but more than half of what I heard was talking directly about things happening in the DLC story.

Okay, just curious. After playing Descent, playing JoH seems like it's overflowing with companion lines... But that's because Descent had about 2.

JoH felt like it had a lot of banter to me even before Descent. Just for comparison.

There was plenty of banter in JoH, but as I remember, there was only so much JoH specifics. Much of the banter banter comes from the main game.

I don't know about banter, but is the water simulation in the Frostback Basin screwed up for anyone else?

I'm not sure when it started (Patch 9? Windows 10? drivers?), but waves are rolling through the zone in places they definitely should not be whenever I go there. It doesn't seem to be something that happens anywhere else in the game.

Yep, I used Cassandra, Vivienne, and Varric and they did their fair share of bantering(Frostback Basin specific). I think people wanted more than the occasional banter though. I believe the people who were talking about lack of dialog were referring to things like cutscenes or companions having some more dialog when you were interacting with the other DLC specific characters.

I wouldn't complain about more companion-focused content, but I certainly felt that they were out there carousing with me.

Mostly I was surprised because I heard such extreme descriptions on this forum as "silent companions" when that is far from the truth.

Well, you know how extreme people on the internet can be... Though it would have been nice to hear them give their 2 cents a little more than what they did, I wouldn't say they were silent...
