what is so strange about this gun?

that it gains accuracy when you use the built-in scope (not the mod). and even more when you do this from hard cover. actually, doing so you can shoot throughout the whole map

i always use the magnifier on my biotics it makes a big difference when u play

I used the piercing mod for the double hits. but probably the piercing is not deep enough anyway, so the magnifier may be the better choice.

It's an easy choice between Wraith and Talon.  Neither.

CLAYMOAR.

I understand the Claymore Fetish ;-)

but please understand those who want light weight or more than one shot, or just a little better accuracy (if it's not on the GE /GI etc.).

at least on a few casters this makes sense - ... to some people :-)

We do not negotiate with terrorists. Either you with us (Claymoar) or you against us (anything else)

It has no effect on force or on combo damage. There are only a few biotic powers that do high base damage, like smash, dark sphere, maybe biotic slash. For those, the magnifier boosts your kill threshold. Otherwise you're better off improving other specs: cooldown, weapon damage, piercing, etc.

Katana.

The crappy weapons get the best names. Let's hope we can name our guns in MEA.

If Geth Engineer - both can work, but Talon is better

The rest - Wraith, because range

My Wraith GE is hurting...

on topic: I refuse to choose. Use both as much as you like, the two best weapons in the game imho.

That is true for almost every single weapon in the game. Scoping in and hard cover increases accuracy for all guns(*), not just talon.

(*) There may be a few exceptions, IDK.

I typically go:  Talon for Adepts and Vorcha (because of good shield stripping) and Wraith for anything else.  I especially like the Wraith on anything with a shield stripping power.  It's awesome on the Geth Engineer.

EDIT:  I have both the Wraith and the Talon at Level IX.  Can't wait until I get one more of each.

Almost every single weapon that's not a shotgun, that is. And as Talon mostly behaves like a shotgun, I'd say this is a major reason why people find its zoomed-in behaviour surprising.

Another not-so-major reason being that it just doesn't make sense. Conceptually most weapons have increased accuracy when zoomed in because that emulates the idea that you're able to aim and control the weapon better, but that shouldn't affect weapons that are meant to fire a spread shot.

I'd guess that even shotguns behave this way but we don't see a significant change because of smart choke.

I say this because yesterday I noticed that graal (with and without smart choke) has better accuracy when zoomed in.

The Graal definitely is affected by ADS, and I think it's pretty significant.  I feel like most other shotguns are affected based on experience, but not as much.

You may be on to something with the Smart Choke though - I never use the Smart Choke on the Graal because I usually use it on melee builds with the Omni Blade.  That could be why I notice more of a difference on the Graal.  EDIT:  I guess not.

Yeah, Graal's a special case (like projectile weapons in general).

However, "ordinary" shotguns (Claymore, Scimitar, Disciple etc.) simply aren't affected by cover or zoom when it comes to their bullet spread. At all.

Talon. Shot delay on the Wraith makes it annoying in some situations. Both are awesome weapons, but I prefer the Talon.
