So I haven't played the Descent DLC (I don't have an Xbox One or PS4 yet) but I did spoil myself watching videos, and what shocked me was that the place that they were in was a Titan. This makes them even more mysterious, who are they? Where did they come from? And what powers do they grant Dwarves?

Any theories you guys have?

I think the powers a titan bestows upon a dwarf will be similar to what see the earth shaker enemies use. Waves of force and lyrium/stone.

I really wished they had given more information during the game. It honestly answered very few and gave us a lot more in return. The Titan clearly sees the dwarves as friends, children or things that need its protection. The dwarves inside the Titan were also trying to protect it as well. Perhaps protecting the Titan was an ancient honor. It seemed to be the source of Lyrium. The dwarves, as far as we know, get no benefit from Lyrium so not sure why they would want it. Hopefully, we will see in future games.

They addressed that lyrium is Titan blood and can be corrupted and they addressed the Titans are sleeping. Will there eventually be a blight like deal lead by a blighted Titan? Can blighted Titans even lead the darkspawn? Are Titans unstoppable blighted or not? Would Grey Wardens even be remotely effective against a Titan? Wouldn't the blighted song and Titan humming mix and drive the Grey Wardens as mad as when Corypheus had the calling magnified or madder? Would Titans join the fight against a blighted Titan? Are Titans able to remove the blight or are they just resistant but not immune like dragons? Is there a connection between Titans and dragons? Why would the child with the old god soul say that a Titan could make a dwarf taller can they? Are Titans intelligent? Are Titans immortal? Can Titans create other Titans? Would dwarves join forces with the darkspawn if a blighted Titan willed it? Was Sandal effected by a Titan?

There's a theory that the dwarves were the titans immune system. Part of a hive mind

I'm not sure if there is a connection between titans and dragons, but maybe between titans and griffons (as in they cannot get through the joining, but rather become Corruption itself - like in the 'Last Flight'?)

I'm thinking there is a surprising resemblance between the Guardian and the Rock Wraith that Hawke had to fight at the end of act one - maybe her/him and Varric stumbled upon a corrupted titan, with the lyrium idol and all?

I was of the mind to wonder if the Titans might of had a hand in helping the dwarves carve out the Deep Roads. What if is the Deep Roads are actually dead Titans? It would explain how the dwarves were able to make such a massive expanse of tunnels (hundreds of miles) if they did not have to dig them out by hand in the first place. Dwarven civilization would therefore have been built entirely around Titans, both for their lyrium/blood and the hallowed space created by their passing.

Do you think Titans could have been created by the Evanuris as "horcruxes" ? I don't have screenshots but I remember these things :

- There is a codex in DAO about the Frostback moutains history... legend says that mountains had a heart, that a god (Korth) put his heart in it "in a golden cask" and created the mountains all around to protect it...
- A codex in Trespasser tells us that a giant Elgar'nan's head was carved in stone, probably with blood magic, and that his eyes were golden, or in fire ?
- A mural in Trespasser shows what may be a black broken Titan with a golden "heart" and a golden eye...
- Cole says "They made bodies from the earth"

It is also said that the Lady of the skies put Korth's city in the sky. It can be the Golden City, heart of a titan, source of pure lyrium... a floating city, or a city existing both in the Fade and physical world, needs a great amount of lyrium I think. Moreover, a heart is a living thing that can be infected... with Blight. So the Golden City may have been blighted.

The dragon/Titan connection is a lot of speculation but both the dragons and Titans are big scary big, both are old creatures, both seem resistant to the taint, and both inspire followers who are bat crap crazy. The Titans sleep so there's no real way to know if the infected are dead or just still sleep I hope for the later it makes a more interesting plot. I agree that Hawke and Varric were in a corrupted Titan I replayed dragon age 2 and the area made me think it was a corrupted Titan.

I don't think the Evanuris created the Titans Solas was curious about dwarves and lyrium like he didn't understand it constantly poking and prodding Varric of course that doesn't dismiss it just means Fen'harel was left out of making the Titans or that he was curious how much the dwarves knew of what he was involved with as for Korth being a Titan I definitely agree probably the first maybe only surfacer Titan (wonder if he lost his caste lol) though that is interesting seeing as the Avvar worship spirits (addressed in Jaws of Hakkon pretty much all through out it) but probably also worshiped a Titan.

Or maybe the Dread Wolf (and the Elven Pantheon for that matter) doesn't know about the Titans, since they pre-date the Blight.

Something I just remembered... the Black City is the center of the Fade, or at least you can see it from everywhere in the Fade.
Mount Belenas, where was Korth's throne, was supposed to be at the center of the world, and Korth could see all people from there, not only their deeds but their feelings too.
So I am more and more convinced that Korth's city was the Golden City. But I'm not sure of Korth's nature. Was he a Titan, Elgar'nan, a spirit, or even all at once ??
