I've seen them die before we reach them on the higher difficulties often enough to stop caring. They survive the round? Awesome. They die by running across elemental mines and getting stabbed to death from the back? Meh, I'll see them again in another match or two.

It really shouldn't happen at all that an objective can fail before you can try to complete it. I've seen it happen far too often. A solution could be for the escort to meet you at the door. However, I stand firm that round 4 of the FC should just not have the escort missions as the AI pathing works poorly on it.

What are you talking about? The AI pathing works just as intended! He charges the biggest pack of enemies he can find, and makes sure to strip down and bathe in the dragon fire every opportunity he gets.

 

Obviously, you're the incompetent ones!

At least the ME3MP escort mission was a drone who couldn't take damage, it just broke down and cried if you didn't stay close and provide emotional support. I thought everyone knew by now that escort missions were universally reviled.

The captain should retain his immortality until he is done his speech on you reaching him. He currently loses it when you get within 15m, which is a huge distance, and makes it very hard to get to him before the enemies ruin him in far too many cases.

He should retain his immortality up until 10 seconds AFTER he gets attached to someone.

Also, WTF does he attack anyone?!?!?! Isn't he a messenger? He's clearly lacking skills to even remotely count as a soldier so he should just be a coward and run whenever he gets hit...

The archer is half-okay in my book, since he try to stay in a safe spot and his Full Draw staggers enemies. Meanwhile, the melee escorts really sucks since he always charge into enemies, his attack doesn't do anything at all other than breaking panicking / sleep, so he actively hinders you both in battle and financially.

 

Why are we "sending the finest" to rescue these scums again?

Had a game this am on perilous, the guy died before he could finish his 1st speech because an assassin gibbed him before we could even get close.

I love how he shouts "I'm no warrior" then runs and agros a group mobs that weren't even looking at him and kills him.

How about being able to rez him? That way at least when he goes down we can kill everything around, then drag his sorry carcass up off the ground.

 

Or just looting the message and passing it on. Josephine wouldn't give us the tickets to the theater, but I can live with that.

Simplest change with a big impact would be to just make them all ranged (aka, change it from a chance for melee vs ranged to only allow the ranged version).  It's not perfect, no, not by a long shot (or any other shot)...but a hell of a lot better than them charging into the enemy group.

It'd be awesome if we ever got a a weekend event protecting these guys, and succeeding would basically buff them for the whole week so that they behave similarly to Heartbreaker enemies (Venatori Zealot/Archer).

He's honestly not even worth the effort, especially if you get the stuck up snobby one that says "it's about time" the stupid thing about them all if you notice, rather than escape afterwards the idiots just run back to the start of the zone waiting for the same damn thing to happen.

What would actually be cool is if one player coukd hit a button next to him (protect mode?) to tank all the damage he receives. It would at least give promote lords something to do.

Does Bodyguard work on him?  Never tried the ability at all in MP.
