Yeah - it's just for testing.

Here's the error that keeps popping up whenever I put the file in the "TLK" folder and type "custom.tlk"

I don't understand that language, for me that error is not popping up.

To reference in within the toolset, if you check the "custom tlk box", you simply have to type the number that it's in the tlk.

Showing you below here:

STEP 1, where I put the file:

https://www.dropbox....STEP 1.jpg?dl=0

STEP 2, the module properties:

https://www.dropbox....STEP 2.jpg?dl=0

STEP 3, setting up the proper strref on the creature's name. (notice how it goes from Test1 to Test2)

https://www.dropbox....STEP 3.jpg?dl=0

STEP 4, verify that the string 1 of the custom.tlk is equal to 1 + 16777126

https://www.dropbox....STEP 4.jpg?dl=0

STEP 5, Run the module and see if worked properly.

It doesn't work on step 2.

The same error pops up. It says: "Property value invalid", and in details it says "Could not find the file: C:\Program Files (x86)\Atari\Neverwinter Nights 2/custom.tlk"

Something is different/wrong (could be with other localized versions of the game, no idea) with your installation then. It should not look in that folder at all.

Did you modify something in your NWN2 installation directory?

Nope.

Try copying the custom.tlk file to the installation directory. (C:\Program Files (x86)\Atari\Neverwinter Nights 2/)

That's exactly what I was doing earlier and it worked in the toolset (except the string ref was over 2 billion), but the game froze every time.

Well, that's very old. That could be the problem.

Try updating to 1.23 and repeat the steps above.

A moment, is your custom.tlk still in the installation folder of the attempts from before I told you to move it there (and was it there when you tried the five steps)?

Well... It says it can't find the server and I have to download "critical rebuild" from http://www.atarisupport.com...

I found some specifically to update 1.04 polish version to 1.23 - I'll try that.

Ok, before you update, remember to remove the custom.tlk from the installation directory if it's still there.

And the .tlk worked! Finally! Thank you a million times Clangeddin! You're my true hero! I knew Bioware forums never fail  :D

I guess that "Old, but not obsolete" line from Terminator is bullshit.
