I always figured that while Skyhold itself doesn't have a brothel, that perhaps there were men and women working at that trade down in the soldiers camps. After all, Bull manages to find a nice girl called "Candy" for Cole and I doubt she was just a serving girl, though I suppose there's nothing stopping people from making a bit of coin on the side.

Yeah, my assumption was that arrangements would be made for coin to change hands when mutually agreed upon without the formality of a location designated as a brothel, and everyone involved was reasonably discreet thus no one cared that much.

A brothel in Skyhold... That is cheapening the stance of the Inquisition if it should ever exist. You are no longer the saviours of humanity, now you are a bunch of jerks who treat others like second class citizens.

You consider their mere existene to make sex-workers second class citizens?

There is no brothel in the entire game because stupid people like feminist think this is a greater sin then murder. Idiot people ruining fun no longer they are losing their influence they do stupid things.

Not really feminism, considering that in Thedas, both males and females equally work in such places, as you could see from the previous games. More practicality in my opinion. You've got a recently appointed keep that is being flooded with refugees, worshipers, recruits and nobles everyday. While it's big, I doubt it's big enough for even the craziest Inquisitor to start portioning off parts of the building for a brothel. Especially since the soldiers etc are camped so far out. Most of the space would be used for accommodation and storage.

There isn't a brothel in Skyhold because it would not be an appropriate place for one.

Through the series, we have found brothels in places where you would logically find one. Denarim and Kirkwall are both towns that have some pretty gritty parts of town, as well as a common middle area where the bulk of commerce happens. These are the likely places you would find one.

Skyhold is technically a military installation/command center, and aid facility, show me anywhere in our world where you would find a brothel in one of these places.  Val Royeaux doesn't have a brothel either because the part of the city we see in game is the high class privileged part of town. The most you might see here would be an escort service ran out of a small but lavish office. You won't find them at any of the keeps we capture because, again, military installations.

There's no brothel because castles - and Skyhold is just a castle - don't have brothels. In fact, having merchant stalls and an internal inn is pretty unrealistic to start with re: how castles were typically set up. Does the pentagon have a shopping mall? A different complaint might be why there's no brothel in Val Royeaux.

According to Wikipedia, the Pentagon has like 20 fast food restaurants. Surprising.

It also has a mini shopping mall there.

I wonder during the early renaissance where there not brothels in large castles you know that could hold a army and a inn and church and a market and blacksmiths and stables and a garden.

Not really. Unlike most 'offices' the Pentagon always has something going on. Having access to food on site makes it so people don't have to leave the grounds for a food run, or have delivery people who aren't vetted coming around. I'm guessing there's also straight dining service provided like any other military base but fast food's just easier to eat in an office or briefing room etc.

As for why no brothel... This should explain it, since it doesn't look like the majority of Skyhold's contigent is posted at the keep proper.

Yes but for people of high class as the Inquisitor there should be a fancy brothel. We can not share with tens of thousands of soldiers after all.

It's a waste of resources. Unless it has story value, it's not going to be in the game.

The Pearl and Blooming Rose had several quests running out of them. The Rose particularlly because the two quests are pretty major story wise. The Pearl is slightly less but has several minor quests running through.

The writers this time around either didn't come up with, or feel the need for storylines requring such a place, thus putting it in just for err flavor is a waste of resources better used elsewhere.

As if real life participants of the inquisition didn't take advantage of the pleasures of flesh... But that doesn't fit into any "proper" agenda now does it?

If having one fit the story Bioware wanted to tell this time around, they would have put it in. Please put your tinfoil hat away now. There's no agenda other than telling the story.

It's not as if they've shied away from sex at all in this game.

Tin foil hat? For mentioning the realities of real life in response to another's post? Ok then. And as far as the sex  and sexuality in the game goes? As a bi male myself I find Gaider's approach to the subject quite offensive. There is an agenda to it and I do not like it. Fair enough?

What is the agenda trying to please everyone? Which is a impossible thing.
