I think the weapon and armor choice are needed for customizing gameplay, give certain weapons and certain armory to make squad combination better and equip characters against certain type of enemies. Of course some of it is aesthetic, but it isn't about that completely unlike changing face and body of your friends is.

After watching this Video, I feel dirty. This is not Femininity, that's as close to Porn as it gets.

...Yeah, but those there aren't supposed to be Combat Outfits.

I like my companions to have their own style and gear that levels up with them. Id like the option to choose alternate skins for their armor/outfit.

Worse still, most of them are just tints. What the hell is that gold about, anyway -- a tribute to Goldfinger?

Hideo Kojima has issues with women. That is a well documented fact.

Anyway, on topic. I would actually like it if our squadmates had a variety of casual, non-combat outfits that they'd wear on the ship instead of just wearing the same thing every day. Even if it's just variations of the uniform.

That being said, I don't necessarily want control over that. Grand Theft Auto V is actually a very good example where NPC's will change their outfits even in the open world, absent your ability to influence. There are a couple who keep the same outfit throughout but with them it's a case of you believe that they probably don't own any other clothes.
