Ha ha ha Beerfish!...Oh you were serious.

We have the vile, horrible leechers of experience that enter a game and just sit there doing nothing, or get killed on purpose.  Never contribute to killing things, Heinous individuals that deserve to be derided, kicked!  spat on!

Then we have the the ones that kill all things, are great players, beacons of the game and shining examples of how to play, but they never break a pot, never go into treasure rooms, as a matter of fact they deride people that go into treasure rooms and slow the game down.  Now at the end of their playing week or two they go to their chest which should contain a button, a piece of string and 150 gp for accidentally killing some nugs.  But wait.....lo and behold they have 100,000 gp sitting there!  (And an additional 30 items to break down for crafting.)

Oh goodness!  I also now have a great treasure score to get the good stuff from chests!  Oh goodness!  I also get additional medals for forging ahead!

All your spending gold?  Not earned.

All you extra items to be turned into crafting supplies?  Not earned.

Your tremendous treasure score for getting better items?  Not earned.

So, worse leecher, exp leecher or gold leecher?

For me, it's the gold leecher, hands down.

For me it's the exp leecher. I mean in the cases I've seen, they literally do nothing. They don't farm gold and they just die until the match ends and then they leave the lobby (because often enough, the third member won't notice or care enough to vote them out until the match is over).

The gold leecher is helping me earn exp and, by proxy, promotions? And maybe some gold for the kill objectives? I might not like it since I get less gold, but I can live with that. I'll admit I'm biased since I don't spend gold anymore, but still...

I don't like it because I stand to get less XP with the gold leecher.

Well exp can also be leeched by jumping into a room 5 seconds before the match ends.

I feel happy for those lucky ones

You can always kick afkers, denying them xp

I only deride people that go into treasures on their own to get themselves killed

And people spamming "here" in front of doors they can't open of course

Especially those spamming in front of a door that NOBODY can open

Had one last night.  Bash door.  No warrior in group.

On topic. Games are pretty short.  It is beyond me why anyone would want to leech anyway (outside of me having to do a nappy change while playing with friends of course)

Spoiler

The exp you might lose out on with a gold leecher is tiny. Exp leeches on the other hand get killed and make the enemies stronger, slowing everything down even if just a bit. An extra player should make the game faster and more fun, not more tedious.

A curse on exp leeches everywhere!

You missed one of those heinous things XP leechers do, so I just added it in there for you.  ;)

Seriously though, people that leech XP through being AFK or dying because they are in a difficulty far above what they should be playing at are also leeching gold at the same time, seeing as you can't collect gold while dead or AFK.

A while ago, I was running a game solo with the lobby set to public.  When people join, I tell them that I am not opening doors.  One guy joins, then proceeds to cuss me out every time I pull him while he is opening a door.  He wouldn't even ask me to wait to open the next door because he was getting gold.  The only time he said anything was to yell at me that I am a ****** ******* **** and so on and so forth.  Needless to say, he was kicked when some other players eventually joined.

I say just go with the flow.  If you PUG into a group that is collecting all the gold, do likewise.  Pulling a group that is trying to open chests and collect pots is messed up.  Likewise, joining a group that is speeding through zones and getting upset at them for ignoring doors and pots is also unacceptable.

Had a xp leecher once, got on my mic and asked everyone to kick the player.  Lo and behold they started moving and threatening to kill us over their mic.  He got kicked

The player that does nothing, not even fight, is the worst but I don't think highly of those that rush ahead, never work as a team, don't wait when the team is working on a door or wait for them to make the dragon call, and then ignore the boss to the "weakling" that are clearly getting overrun while he's at the other side of Z5 on a tour. Yeah, I get it, you already have everything. Good for you, not so good to those that aren't on your level.

I have zero guilt when that happens, not one iota.  I am probably owed 100 times the exp for the number of crashes, disconnects and narnias.  I would say for every one game I have appeared on the last wave to reap the reward I've had 10 where the game crashed one way or other.

Whem I'm the host I usually SpeedRun, what mean that I only open Free Doors. When I'm the Host and I open my lobby to public I open the doors they ask, but let them face whatever is inside, unless there is only one guy wanting the door. Otherwise I do not open the door. Come on. It's "my lobby", I dont have to do what I dont want to do.

If I join a PUG, I do what the majority seems to want. If two guys want a door I open it and leave them taking care of whatever is inside.

Having said that(i really dont know if this expression exists), I hate Exp Leechers.

I don't know what it is with me and my IP, but whenever I'm the leader and we play on FC, once zone 3 or 4 hits there's a 50% chance your butts going straight to Narnia and never coming back. The weird part about it is that people don't have any issues with lag in my lobbies, so it's just strange that I have this issue so often when its FC.

I don't like opening treasure rooms, sue me.

There really isn't a point to them once you get everything you can from RNGesus. They just slow the game down and possibly get pugs killed.

That said, I try to be courteous to PUGs and open/help with rooms if they really want it. I also try to collect pots when they are close by.

But I don't like it!

They only get pugs killed if the other team players leave the pugs to face revenants on their own.  They actually do not slow the game down much at all if the whole team enters kills the boss and collects all chests, a matter of seconds.  The time savings are off set because at times spawns head back to the chest areas.

In the end I usually take my cue from the host of the game, if he/she wants to race so be it.

Not a fan of either.  Good thing I can't kick vote alone as host.
