They only get pugs killed if the other team players leave the pugs to face revenants on their own. They actually do not slow the game down much at all if the whole team enters kills the boss and collects all chests, a matter of seconds. The time savings are off set because at times spawns head back to the chest areas.
In the end I usually take my cue from the host of the game, if he/she wants to race so be it.
As I said, if the team wants to do doors, I do doors and help.
I was just expressing my personal preference. I don't really need the gold and don't have anything to do with it (and by the time the next batch of stuff arrives I'll have enough gold to buy it anyway) but I do realize that some people are still grinding the bad good grind.
It is!
I never got a Sulevin blade but considering that there are better options now I am not that salty anymore and I am not even trying now.
The only things I still want are the GS and bow from the dragon but the last dragons I fought have been total cheapskates and not dropping anything.
They gave me a Silencer at least...

I'll follow the masses with regards to treasure rooms, unless someone glue's their finger to the 'get over here' button, then I just ignore them as I actually did hear them the first 50 times!
I'd say xp leechers are the worst, just standing their getting murdered (dropped into a match today where the host was doing it...git), you either have to run back to them to keep them alive, or let them die & make the game harder.

Everyone who ignores pots, chests, quests and nugs entirely did already get all the items they want and can get with gold or chests, they do not run ahead because they want you to collect gold and items for them, they simply do not need it anymore.
I do not open everything in PUGs myself,
- collecting pots on my way - yes
- killing nug - very yes
- go for chests that do not have a guardian - yes
- opening a possible 6 undead / 5 spider room - just go ahead, i will solo it ;P
- open any other door - use F4 while we are close to show me that you want to do it
- running back after the zone is finished to open a chest and possibly fight a revenant/AH? - you are on your own, i will be ready to open the next zone once you are done
It is a matter of how many better items (than you have at the given moment) and stat increases you get in a certain time, and at some point fighting revenants is not worth it anymore, and this later also applies to all gold/chests you can collect

There are no gold leechers, if someone leeches gold they also leech XP.

I played with many a person that ran ahead never grabbed a pot and never opened a chest practically since the day i played the 1st game. so yes indeed those people were gold leechers. They contributed nothing at all to getting the gold and yet at matches end had the same amount as everyone else.
Just as if a person stood at the entrance and never moved and never killed a thing would end up getting a share of exp at the end of the game.
Both leechers but only the guy leeching the exp gets taken to task.

The whole team clearing treasure rooms together definitely slows games down.
Either skip them entirely or have one player clear them out while the others clear the rest of the zone. Backtracking to treasure rooms after a zone is cleared is inexcusable.

For those of you that hate opening treasure doors but do anyway. As a inquisition gold digger I hella appreciate it. I understand your priorities and you understand mine. Thank you

Just think, poor Dragon Racer would have got her ring months ago if not for some of youze guyz who skip rooms.

I vote XP leeches. As for the gold side of the debate I'll go with the flow of the team I land in, they want doors open I'll do it. They wanna speed on ahead sure fine I'll still hang back and collect pots and unguarded chests tho, whatever I do what I want.
I normally don't stay in groups that skip doors though as I love me some loot, collect all the gold! I is a leprechaun. ![]()

I fall into the gold leach category sometimes, last week I smashed out 30 eleven ruins rounds in a couple of hours, during that time I opened doors only if nobody else could and then ran on to kill the rest of the zone while the team cleared the room, other times I will deliberately stop at every pot or door and wait for others to open them, I have no problem with doing the rooms but I rather keep the time to under 10 mins and get more games done than clear everything myself, of course if my team is a bit weak then I have to go pick them up and kill the rooms as well, i'm sure some of my team mates hate me for being so uber, and some actually quite the game when they see my mage /rouge getting hit for 1 damage off the rtc but hey promote and get gear people then you too can find it easier (ok so when I have the weaken debuff on my chars they take loads of dmg but I generally kill mooks fast enough for it not to be a problem)
my best run was sub 7 mins full team on fc my worst run was the one just before it same team but the spawn was 3 mooks at each end of the map every time they died for 5 minutes, took nearly 45 mins to clear fc ...... and the game was laggy as hell so the servers must of been busy and not coping .....

Is somebody really leeching gold if they're perfectly capable of handling the next pull without the others? Isn't it actually faster to have somebody clear forward while somebody else clears a treasure room? Sure, it's one thing if they insist on porting everybody to the next zone while people are opening rooms, but if the key drops at the same time the guardian goes down, what's the issue? As others have stated, anybody who can solo-clear zones quickly is probably full-up on the RNG's beneficence.

Actually I just realized I was missing the Power Chord and Dragon Rage rings. Dropped 70k at RNGeesus, got only Power chord.
More tomorrow I guess, I am sick of salvaging. ![]()

What about Dragon Call leechers? "Over here!" "You need to see this!" You can play game after game with some people and they just won't ever use a call.
And don't give me the ol' "That's the host's responsibility" spiel either. Just because some people choose to host does not mean they are more obligated to spend Dragon Calls than others.

they should bring those dragon chests back. those things are a pain to craft. (can only craft 1 at a time, lack of materials, disconnect while crafting one)

Back in the day i was happy the very few times i had the luck to end up with groups of 2 or 3 that told me to pick a level 1 because they can handle perilous on their own.
They ignored doors and pots entirely, they killed everything while I (and most of the time another random player) smashed the pots behind them. Easiest gold+xp ever.
And now you guys come around and claim that guys like them are leechers, just because they dont go for chests.
If someone dies that is another thing, but the only reason to complain about players killing enemies without dieing is that you need kills (for challenges or regeneration) yourself.

So, worse leecher, exp leecher or gold leecher?
I don't see how this can even be a serious question. One "leeches" gold, the other leeches gold and experience. One plays the match with slightly different priorities perhaps, the other doesn't even play the game at all. One speeds up the game (admittedly this is evidently a negative for some), the other forces you to three man the match. We can all disagree on how much of a priority picking up gold should be for all players, but there's no comparison between these two.
That said, anyone who PUGs a match and interferes with the host's chosen play style is being a bit rude. If the host wants doors, I'll open them. If the host insists on cracking every pot, I'll help to speed it up. I always have the option of leaving & hosting my own game if I get too impatient.

Good example.
I watch the host and if they are picking up gold or stopping at treasure rooms etc, I make sure to tag with them. I know how annoying it is as a host to want to get the loots only to be ported out of the map. Do unto others basically.

Exactly correct. If 2 go into the room and grab the cash and kill whatever is in there and the other 2 go ahead, it hardly slows down anything and nets more gold. That is of course if everyone is capable and doesn't get themselves killed. Not always the case in pugs

Oh and don't even get me started on those melee classes who still don't know when and where nugs spawn, but run ahead of everyone else and completely ignore them. That's a big chunk of easy gold for those of us still trying to get better gear. Once in awhile is an accident, seeing the same screen names doing it over and over is infuriating.
Before I get "play with a mic" I don't play with a mic often because I have 2 young kids, who are extremely loud during the day so I try to be considerate.

Running past doors only to come back and open them after the match is my biggest problem with PuGs. If you're the class that can open a door, just open the door while on your way forward, if you don't want to get the chest fine someone else who wants to can. Its rediculous waiting till everything's dead and then trekking back to the beginning just to open a door to an undefended chest. It happens almost every game. I guess some people don't know what doors have guarded chests and which ones dont, but if someone is spamming "over here" while you're trying to Rambo your way into a horde of enemies because you think getting top spot at the end of the match somehow gets you more xp, maybe they know something you don't and aren't just an idiot.

Play with a mic...;^)
Seriously. Then, when the kids start wailing in the background, you get on the mic and yell "Kick the damned door down already! Can't you hear? I've got two hungry mouths to feed!"
