Whem I'm the host I usually SpeedRun, what mean that I only open Free Doors. When I'm the Host and I open my lobby to public I open the doors they ask, but let them face whatever is inside, unless there is only one guy wanting the door. Otherwise I do not open the door. Come on. It's "my lobby", I dont have to do what I dont want to do.
If I join a PUG, I do what the majority seems to want. If two guys want a door I open it and leave them taking care of whatever is inside.
Having said that(i really dont know if this expression exists), I hate Exp Leechers.
This..

Especially those spamming in front of a door that NOBODY can open
Ugh. This is the worst.
Well, second worst. The gold leechers are the worst to me. There's nothing more frustrating to me than having a group push on past a door that can be opened because I'm never confident anymore that they will actually return to open it once the key drops. Frankly, it's why I solo treasure rooms when I can. Go ahead and push on past the door without me. I'll catch up and we'll all be 30-50 gold richer or carrying a spiffy new item.

But where will I use them? Hakkon in main hand, savage thorn in off hand, Silencer in...???
Hakkon + Silencer obviously. Guard on all rogues except one is only 25% of max health and SS has guard on hit anyway. Put that Silencer on Pala and use Spinning Blades, Throwing Blades and Hidden Blades. Proc Hidden Blades all over the place.
Dammit, I want that dagger even more than I want the Hakkon Greatsword.

I played a match with a blatant leecher the other day. He moved maybe twice the entire match. What upset me was that we got to zone 5 the leecher sat there for 5 minutes while we waited at the flag. We got two kick votes but the third wouldn't. I wasn't sure if they didn't know how to or they were their friend keeping them from getting kicked. Eventually they moved to the circle and didn't move again. They even went down twice in zone 5 just standing there and the other idiots on my team revived him. I wanted to teabag him into the fade, never got my chance, they were too quick on the revive.

I just got the Hakkon greatsword yesterday, didn't find it all that impressive. Only used it for 1 match then went back to Skywatchers Cleaver, what am I missing that makes it so great? I know it has 2 buffs horn of valor and blessed blades but the chain lightning and 30+% HoK of the cleaver seems to be better.

The ~40 extra base damage and +100% Critical damage bonus doesn't do it for you?

A two-handed AoE weapon with base damage on par with the Maul of the Dragon, has a massive crit damage bonus, has a grip and pommel slot, and gives out team buffs on hit?
I don't need any HoK on the Reaver, 10% max for Avvar and Katari. Chain Lightning is cool I guess.

Maybe once I promote enough to bring my crit chance up to respectable levels, that's probably my downfall honestly.

I find that, those you labeled "gold leechers" actually annoy me more than the others. Not because of the gold, but because, if they're rushing ahead, it probably means they are overpowered for that difficulty and are killing everything by themselves. I don't want to be carried; I actually play DAIMP to have fun!

Even at base crit, the crit damage will outclass chain lightning proc especially if you use warhorn + deathblow(reaver) for guaranteed crits. Also the base damage alone is worth taking it. For reference the base dmg difference is like going from Hossberg Twainer to the Sulevin blade. Not to mention the free horn of valor.
Might want to give it a second look. Now if only this sword would drop for me I seem to be seeded for bad 2-h luck as they always seem to be the type I get the worst drops for.

my dragon great sword has higher dmg than the dragon maul, it does aoe, I use it to romp through threatening matches in under 10 minutes with or without a team on my level 1 reaver, of course since you generally get the same or slightly more xp at the end of a threatening match that you get off a peri match until you hit lvl 15 I don't see the point in doing peri, besides its fun seeing 1 dmg pop up all over the place and makes darkspawn easy in spite of the crazy amounts of stun and knockdowns the sha'brytol have ....

I can kind of, sort of, see where he's coming from. Raw numbers-wise, certainly Perilous gets you more XP, but somebody may be at a sort of in-between point where a single Threatening run is faster and safer than attempting Perilous at the very low levels.
My promotions are not at the point where I can just blow through a Perilous match with a 1st level character, and I actually find it faster and more efficient to blow through a Threatening match after a first promote to kickstart myself a few levels up and begin opening up character builds before going into Perilous. I haven't found many PUGs capable of carrying a level 1 through Perilous (especially recently, seems like there're a lot more people who don't know what they're doing.)

Do you join their lobby or do they join your lobby? i think this is a key because if i start a lobby and start a run solo in one mode or another it is my belief whoever joins should respect my already started run. If not leave and start or go to another run that suits the style. I find it annoying when they join my run and started either F4 spamming or opening doors when i am in a treasure room.

I'll echo the sentiment that you can't call someone a gold leech if they could care less that they are getting gold at all.
Since I have no use for gold (have 700K and need couple of unique items but tired of sitting and going through the chest so will do once in awhile), the only times i will stop in treasure rooms is do the spiders and undead challenges in zones 1 and 2. Even seeking out the pots is only the obvious ones. However if i run into a player who needs the gold/chests opened etc. then I will go and open all the rooms. So it is hard to judge who is a gold leecher.
XP Leecher are something else entirely.

in both you hit level 7>8 at the end of the first match, in the second match you hit lvl 12, third lvl 14 fith lvl 15 and then peri takes over as the one level per match cap actually makes it worth the extra mobs, ever since the level cap its just not worth doing peri until later in the game, and then since I have relatively low promotes and not the best gear I can only solo on a few chars, but I can romp through 2>3 threatening matches for every perilous solo completion so if its quite (not many on) then its more expedient to spam threatening in every way since 1>20 is under 2 hours.
of course if you get a decent team then peri is fast enough but to be honest most of the ones I end up with take 25+ mins to complete one of the old maps (on the rare occasion that I don't die with 3 mobs left in round 5 thanks to the fade watchers in beginner armour ......) for some reason people don't understand that they get more gold and xp per hour smashing out sub 10 minute threatening rounds than spending 25+ for half the gold .....

I'm in the same boat. 775k and nothing to spend it on, so I have been skipping pots entirely now and most rooms.
I still open all the doors on FC since that ridiculous challenge is sitting at 47k out of 1mil...

I would expect all of these people to have 10,000,000 gold in their kitty. New weapons out all of a sudden? New rings? Do these people spend any gold?
Pretty nice to be able to spend a ll this gold that you don't care about.
I could care less if I get any exp, I am just going to sit in the 1st room and admire the tapestries.
