At this point, you could do two things... Create a Lobby group with the old members or join the Vroom Social Network which is pretty much the same.

I'm still hoping the Community Manager actually figures out that the problem is lazy moderators and not toxic forums.

What if it's both?

I guess the best course of action would be to lock sections of the forum down and avoid interacting with the community. That would improve everything.

Maybe so, if certain areas are more trouble than they're worth.

Didn't you listen to Leo8Skylar? If you don't already see it you won't ever see it.

Leo honestly needs to not talk. No hate

Actively moderate the community to get rid of the toxicity.

This forum has seen all degrees of moderator participation over the years. Doesn't really make a difference, and all of 'em get trashed.

If you really don't think it makes a difference then you haven't been paying the slightest attention.

Have seen the Dragon Age Inquisition and Mass Effect forums? Whatever "toxicity that the off topic forums had pales in comparison to both of them.

I pay attention. It really doesn't. "Toxicity" has been a running theme on this forum for half a decade, and people will complain whether mod activity is tight or loose. This place hasn't made it rewarding whatsoever to be in that position, hence one of the reasons why they're based on anonymous shifts now.

That actually makes more of a case for closing down OT and focusing attention there instead, doesn't it?

I pay attention.

Clearly not even a little bit.

It really doesn't.

Doubling down on it doesn't make it any less absurd, but I won't waste any further time addressing it.

That's perfectly fine. I know what I've seen over the years.

Maybe instead of "all degrees" you stick with something that works. Bethesda manages to handle an Off Topic forum just fine with a much larger group of posters. Ping ponging around never did anyone any good.

No it's not. You don't shut down your least toxic forum just so you focus on the other forums.

There's a reason for the ping-ponging, though. I doubt they'd do it if things "worked".

It might be worth the added hassle for Bethesda and not for BioWare.

If there was and there is, that means more moderation is needed, not less and more poorly.

If you're out in the cold, you wear a coat, you don't run madly in the streets hoping that a burst of fire from the Heavens would warm you up.

"Necessary PMs" meaning what specifically? If there is a ban dispute then, yes, a response to a review request should be part of the protocol of banning a user. However, there have been users in this thread bellyaching over getting a warning point or two. To take up the time of a moderator to review the nuanced details of such a minor thing is an unnecessary imposition.

I do mean review request.

The mods just go what they see via the report everything else is non-existent.

And Leo. The Feedback forums in the DA:I were the biggest cesspit I've ever seen and those people weren't Off-topic regulars. The regular forums are extremely toxic only a few threads are exempt. Off-Topic is a paradise compared to those forums.

Also you should stop being so hypocritical and open your eyes a bit ;) especially to the remaining forums.

Personal attacks. Ummm, Let me see how i can label that, Oh yeah, Toxicity. I don't play Dragon Age, So, I'm not familiar with their forums and therefore can not judge them.

Not personal. I'm being honest. You obviously have your own confirmation bias. It's not an insult it's an observation of your own behaviour. But I'll assume this is a personal attack on you as well, so I'll apologise in advance.

(that last sentence is snark by the way ;) )

Calling me a hypocrite is clearly not a personal attack, Okay, I will bite. I have no quarrel with anyone, I don't really care about anyone that much to hold a grudge against anyone, But, i dislike the Self-rightousess know-it-all behavior some of the users on here pulls off. And more often than not, I have seen that behavior on the lobby.

To be fair to Leo he was probably bullied a few times, yeah some of his ideas were wack and he certainly deserved some teasing for it but I'd say at least to my mind knowledge that a few instances crossed the line and there was probably others that I was unaware of. So its not surprising he has a negative view of it.

And that reminds me, Leo did you ever watch Psycho Pass?

It doesn't really matter. I don't hold their opinions in such a high regard and i certainly didn't present my ideas to please them or anyone, I was merely self-experssing my ideologies. As for the bullying, Or harassement you have mentioned, Yeah, It's part of the problem, And it seems to be a problem that is not only on this forums, But on the internet as a whole. Some people think that they are entitled to personally attack and harass other people and that's supposed to be completely fine. There was that gaming movement that was just solely about harrasement. A movement that i don't want to mention its name because it'd derail this thread. The point is, That behavior, Among others, Is what made the lobby a toxic place.
