This makes no sense to me.

I go to off-topic to talk about things with the kind of people that like Bioware titles. Why shut it down? All they'll get is a drop in forum traffic.

 

Yeah, I can't get ANY of this on twitter, or Facebook, or anywhere else. I come here specifically for this.

It's most likely to deal with traffic, though I can think of two other pointless sections that nobody uses to close over the Off-topic

 

Traffic is such a weird thing to have issues with though- don't you want incoming traffic? I guess I have to understand they have their reasons and maybe it's for reasons I'm not privy to, but I think there are other, larger issues, that should have been dealt with first.

Why did they kill the DA:I Feedback section as well?

No, the feedback sections have been moved and consolidated to the franchise level, rather than having individual topics for each game (Dragon Age can be found here).

This is all Crusty's fault, actually. The Powers That Be saw that he was close to actually completing an LP and decreed that the only way to stop its completion was full decimation of the entire Off Topic section.


This thought is what is going to help me sleep tonight, other than thinking someone at Bioware actually believed this was genuinely a smart decision. This thought and tears.

Wow, you guys really do hate your community don't you? As if you hadn't made your distaste clear enough with all of the talk of "toxic forums" and all of that. Apparently you want your forums to consist entirely of nutcases whining about romances and trying to guess what Tali's sweat tastes like. As if the first time you stripped this forum of all sorts of features and content wasn't bad enough.

 

Bioware take a look at your "what changes would you like to see on the Bioware Forums" thread (yeah, remember that? did anybody official ever even look at that?) tell me where you see people demanding off-topic be removed?

 

As bad as this community is Bioware, you deserve a lot worse for your behavior.

It's incredible how inept BW is at moderation, not only due to how inconsistent and lax it is, but they have no problem with a bunch of romance creeps giving the wrong impression about their brand. If one didn't know any better, they'd get the impression ME/DA is some datesim with some combat minigame thrown in due to how you can see 5+ romance related threads on the first page of general discussion for one of their games(I've literally seen this on the DA:I forum before).

 

Those boards were as embarrassing as the DOA5: Last Round board on gamefaqs was before the DOAX weirdos finally migrated upon the creation of the DOAX3 forum there.

Read the whole interaction and don't just pick a single post out of context and then imply I'm stirring up people, thank you very much.

 

I read it all, which is why I know you did it more than once. I didn't imply anything, I said that I hoped that your goal wasn't to upset people by telling them to "calm down" when they were already expressing themselves reasonably. If that isn't your goal, then you should probably stop doing it.
