We now go live to Ground Zero, a.ka. the Off-Topic Lobby to our present reporter Liza Starshine. How's it looking over there, Liza?

Liza: Chris, I'll be frank and say that it's not looking that great.
So it would reasonable to assume that moderators will now allow more latitude for what qualifies as "on topic", given that there is no "off-topic/community" section any longer. Of course, just because it would be reasonable to assume that doesn't mean that's what the admins here actually intend.
You know what hurts? I'm so used to going to the Off Topic section that I'm still occasionally clicking on it when I'm trying to get to this thread.
I keep refreshing it hoping something will change. ![]()
Did the Mirandalorians invade off topic when I was gone for ages?

Now I'm really hot under the collar. What is the deal with the restrictions on posting in the DA forums? I own all 3 games, the first 2 ME games, and several games prior going back a good decade, at least. I have been an active member of these boards since I got DA3. The original restrictions were already incomprehensible, but now they got even worse. The feedback & suggestions board was moved under "DA Franchise", and now, I can't post there either. I have many posts there, some quite recent, and now I can't continue ongoing conversations.
PLEASE ALLOW ME TO POST! There is no reason for this exclusion. I am your longterm customer.
In order to provide a better experience on our forums, we have decided to reduce the number of public boards. These changes will take place over the course of today (Monday, August 24th).
Actually loving that part.
"Did you post it?"
"Yeah just clicked 'Post'!"
"Okay guys! GOGOGO"

CP always wanted to close that forum down
If that is the case, it would be great reading the rationalizations for marginalizing the OffTopic playerbase datapoints.
@Conal
Care to share the valid reasoning for closing the offtopic?
When you're on the opposite side of the Cap't then you're absolutely on the wrong side of things!
This is what it leads to.

And this is how it should have gone for the guy who suggested this idea in the first place.

Hey, you guys got the romance section shut down too, bahahaha. Can only put two and two together, lel.
Oh, my God, it just hit me! And I just watched Avengers 2 yesterday. This is exactly what Ultron wanted to do! Where's our Vision?

How did you know?
Even if Bioware returns Off Topic, I won't love them for it. The fact that they thought this was actually worth trying out/doing says enough.

Wipe this pathetic forum from the face of the internet!
I see these changes enacted without any prior announcement have been received brilliantly. It must mean that this is the absolutely right thing to do! Because everything good has to be tolerated first?....until we get used to how bad it is...and lower our standards...until um....the time comes to cut out more content! ![]()
There's a fall from grace joke in here somewhere and that's going to get me on the topic of PST which is far better than discussing the clusterfuck BW wants their board to become.
It's almost amusing in a rather gut wrenching sort of way since the community of OT is what kept me coming back and this is the second longest community I've ever stuck around this long in. Oh well, time to update my bookmarks to groups til they decide to can that too.
They clearly want things to get worse. Must be why they did this. Every single forum I ever visit has an off topic section, this is the first I've ever been to that decided to get rid of it. Foolishness.

I never used the off-topic forums, but removing them is a stupid idea. It's a terrible excuse as well that other places exist. People come to these forums to discuss Bioware games but also things not related to Bioware, every successful community has a space for general chat.

Also the manner in which this change happened is infuriating beyond the already mad levels of stupid that the decision itself holds.
Guys, rolling "Quest help and walkthroughs" into "Story, campaign, and characters" may not have been your best move. People who need help with a quest will not want to (and should not have to) dig through 14 pages of random character threads to get to the one they need.
Guy who closed the OT. I don't know who you are but i wll find you. I will hunt you down.. and it will be awkward.

None of this was a good move.
I mean damn I'm gonna hit 7000 likes on my posts soonish and the sudden burst isn't even coming from something good.
No more Off Topic?
Well, it's been a good run.
More off topic in car forums and Reddit for me. ![]()
