What we need is a bigger community team like we used to have. More people.

I'm going to start my own forum... with blackjack! And hookers!

In fact... forget the forum!

We will of course be monitoring how it goes. In our experience this tactic does work on other boards, it just takes a bit of getting used to and a bit more mindfulness by posters. We will continue to keep the Dragon Age: Inquisition spoiler/non-spoiler sections separate for now, but will be merging them down the line at some point.

Just want to go ahead and say that's a terrible idea. Seriously. How is a mass of spoiler tags for every little thing cluttering up the boards better than simply having 2 sections? Do you guys have some weird subsection-budget I wasn't aware of? Please consider this more carefully.

Why do the other languages still have their lobbies? http://forum.bioware...espace-détente/

It seems pretty discriminatory that we got shut down and then were told that we would likely be banned if we go to one of the other lobbies and made English posts.

Oh, the irony. I guess they did that because the English forums are way, way more active which is not surprising. Now I feel even more sad.

Probably because they're nowhere near as active in which case I can only surmise they want user activity in the forums to go down not up.

I agree, it's annoying to see a bunch of spoiler tag in every single post.

You know, that's something I don't really understand. This is their official forum, this place should be one of their top priorities when it comes to social media presence. This whole "toxic forum" talk is ridiculous. Their are running a BUISNESS. Do something about the "toxic forum", start moderating your official forum again and stop making it even worse.

Actually, I never understood the whole "toxic forum" thing in the first place. Sure, there were outrages about DA2 and infamously over ME3 but those were incidents ultimately caused by stuff that happened in BW games. They were understandable reactions and they did calm down after a while. I don't think these forums are particularly toxic in general. I am not very active in any other community but even I have seen way worse from my brief glances into other places. Especially when devs post, people here are usually very respectful and rational (this thread being another understandable exception).

So I really don't know where BW's apparent disdain for their own forums originates from.

The community team's been getting smaller over time rather than larger. That needs to flip.

It's clearly not going to, though.

Again - they are actively trying to kill the forum. ACTIVELY. They want it to cease to exist in everything but name only. A place to catalogue news posted on social networks and to act as a psychotic echo chamber for the deranged who believe they are actually talking to someone with "fan feedback."

They don't WANT this place to exist. And instead of hoping it would slowly die, they instead are working on hacking it to pieces.

Yeah, but we had Cassandra Saturn threads sitting there for close to a week which makes it appear that no mods even popped in and checked us out. The DAI and ME forums were way more hostile than the Lobby ever was from my personal experience. It's a matter of them not even trying and just giving up that frustrates me.

i didnt want to tackle your point, i just wanted to say that it just isnt comparable, because there is hardly anything to moderate in the german forum.
the "moderation" of the lobby has been extremely poor and is (was) in urgent need of improvement. but of course its much easier to just lock the offtopic down than putting some effort into it (and the community)...

The ME and DA forums aren't toxic, and I don't think they have been for a long time. I really don't get the toxicity.

I'm pretty sure that, after Jessica Merizan left and the named mods were replaced by the botmods, "cleaning up the off topic" was used as a punishment.

"Aaaawwww c'mon Bob! You ruined my Starbucks order AGAIN?! It's off topic cleaning duty for you!"

"But sir! Nobody was in there for weeks!"

"I don't care! Start working! End of line!"

"Noooooooooooo!"

The biomods aren't that bad. They have just been noticeably more inactive of late with only Biomod 1 seemingly doing anything.

What's wrong with merging them at some point in the future? At some point the activity in the non-spoiler section is gonna be slow to inactive

In the future but we may get a new  DA DLC in a couple of weeks , so it would be nice if they waited until the end of the year.

The community team management+moderating has been in need of improvement and increase in members for years now. I remember sending suggestions to folks years ago. Not specifics likes names of people who could be a part of it, but ideas that would lead them to find people they approve of for it. Especially to take care of a problem the BSN had back in the day where nights and weekends had an increase in spam/trolling because no one was around to clean things up.

But nothing ever came of that, at least not that I was aware of.

I don't think they would've merged it now before the DLC, if anything they would do it some time after everything came out for DAI

Finally, we have removed the Off-Topic boards. We want to keep the conversations on our boards focused on BioWare and our games.

Be careful what you wish for.

The ME Boards have always been the wild west except for brief periods around a game's release date.

Well, we are three years after ME3 was released. The forums have died down significantly. Still very active, but with less new threads. I haven't seen anything toxic in the ME forums for months. If there's anything toxic-like, it would be the Andromeda forums which I still don't understand why there are so many threads.

The funny part of the whole "the forums are toxic" thing is that the off-topic was pretty much the least toxic of any of them.

Did they end up getting rid of the Inquisition Feedback and Suggestions forum? Seems to have vanished.
