I don't remember where it was posted and I can't find it now, but they had said yesterday that groups were being considered to "undergo changes". So, probably. I mean, they closed a whole section of forum with 12 minutes notice, I see no reason why they would handle groups any better.
I wouldn't be surprised to see those go as well.
Right now I'm concerned about groups. Will Bioware close them with very little notice?
I was given a warning point yesterday by one of the biomod accounts, contested it with Mr. Pierse, and he promptly removed it;I had it for less than an hour because it shouldn't of been given to me in the first place, a verbal warning would've sufficed. If Tobi's good behavior is as he says it is, there's no reason the same wouldn't be done for him.
Yeah but Elite Pinecone from the Twitter Thread tried to move the thread in the spoiler sub forum , and from what I've gathered he couldn't get in touch with anybody for a couple of weeks (I'm not sure he got an answer by now )
It's possible people are on holidays or something but that's a bit worrying.

I don't think its a matter of picking and choosing. I think you just have to rationally bring up your case and let them weigh it against your reputation and history here.
Thats another thing though, the rules round here should be more set in stone and obvious instead of up to interpretation.
Up to interpretation wouldn't be a bad thing if they had reasonable people doing it.
But being literally unaccountable as a faceless mod-account which may or may not actually be accessed by several different people doesn't necessitate reason. There is no reputation to be concerned about. They can just start banning people for lolz and no one could do a thing about it. In fact, even if they wrongfully banned people here and got caught by the admins, they might just drop it under the rug because unbanning people only to have them vent their frustration is more work to then try and placate than simply keeping them banned - out-of-sight-out-of-mind.

That being said, people actively working to drive such threads further off-topic may start to receive moderation. Likewise, threads comparing BioWare titles to their contemporaries are also perfectly fine (though as always we do ask that people try to find an appropriate existing thread before starting a new one).
We are continuing to look at other changes to the forums (such as changes to groups) and ways we can improve the community as a whole, but nothing has been set as of yet. We want to see how these initial changes go first, and will decide what to do next from there.

I've got seven warning points and while I might deserve 2 or 3 of them, I don't believe I should have gotten the rest. I mean, I got one for pointing out that copyright infringement and piracy are two different things. WTH?
Then there are arbitrary rules like, "You can't just post a picture, you need to have text in the post, too." Uh okay? Even when the picture has text in it?

You can't even message Mod1, not that the other mods ever answer. The reasons for suspensions are not transparent and if they even link to the post in question, it doesn't help you at all since they deleted it.
So you don't know what exactly you did wrong, you don't know what those warning points mean and you don't know how long they'll be there.That's what moderation looks like on BSN.

While I feel that anonymous mods are a good thing the way said mods are handled is incredibly poor.

They moved the character threads into the combat, strategy and gameplay section. Last time I checked, characters and combat, strategy and gameplay are two different things.

This is part of the problem. I shouldn't have to "bring it up" to Conal because the moderators should use reason and intelligence when doling out points or bans. You can't just go around all willy nilly!
They should take the whole thing into account. It's not just "Let's delete the last 30 posts, that should get it." And it allows for moderators to be corrupt- especially when "faceless", since they don't actually interact with the community they don't take in to account your history, unless you have a history of being opinionated.
I can't go on enough about the Moderators and their uselessness. One time, I even have a mod directly tell another poster that I, by name, was the one who had reported him. How is that even ethical?

I don't feel rare either. Most of the active posters have a post/likes ratio of 75% or better. Most of them have at least a dozen friends and are members in several groups. That's what happens when you engage in the community.
It's more rare to see someone with 10k+ posts who isn't "liked" much.
That would be me. However, my intent in being here was never to make friends, although that happened anyhow. The reason I stayed and kept coming here was, primarily, to read and learn about BW games. In that time, as I would read the forums, I would add contributions to the community through OT. Most of my posts, admittedly often obscure, were made with the intent to contribute something back to the community inspired by the things I experienced and learned from this community. One thing I can say, without a doubt, even though there may be a great many differences between the people that come here almost all love BW games. This includes the modders, romance enthusiasts, the OT dwellers, and the next to go the "groupies". I was here for BW games, Mass Effect mostly, not the social aspect. I will not be joining any BSN OT refugee forums.
