Have to say, even as a lurker this is dissapointing. There was some great recomendations in the game/anime/music/tv threads that were active. The only other game forum I saw try to nuke offtopic with was Blizzard, and even they went back and added sections for games/media (they also let people run wild on the weekends to let off steam).

Anyways guess I'll stick to browsing others forums, cause it's not like there's anything going on Bioware specific anyways. Though what do I know, if they want a community that only disects a minute long teaser trailer for the next year obviously they have a great reason.

I would. I've sent my own ideas to them over the years quite a few times. I wish others did the same on their own accord.

So... when do we throw the towel in here? Page 50? 100? I mean, go ahead and count on not getting any further response. And with no response, when does this stop becoming in any way enjoyable?

Seriously though, I don't know how people can manage to talk about the same thing incessantly without getting tired of it and switching to something else.

Agree. Maybe long ago but by the time they were prepping for inquisition, she was riding the nerd TV train to fame. We weren't even on her radar.

maybe, but she does care about people and her fans even more.

I don't intend to ever throw in the towel. I'm not tapping out ever.

I wouldn't count the pages, I'd count the days. Give them until the end of the week.

What makes you think they havent? Dragon Racer sent like a five page letter to the devs with her ideas. Ive given mine as well. I think people do more than you think.

Good. Usually I hear about it if someone does something like that which is why I didn't have a clue. Hopefully it mattered in some way.

I wanna play, "Don't let this go till Bioware sees the error of their ways"

The last actively engaged forum presence we had was Chris Priestly, not everyone liked him and he made a few errors in my opinion but he was very engaged, right on top of things forum wise and got info out promptly.

I did used to be a forum moderator and the voluntary mods worked very well at the time if you ask me.  They were able to have this place manned almost 24-7 and pretty well never over stepped their bounds.

And I think the Bioware Community Team does less than we think. Or at least more ignoring.

To be fair, the ideas and opinions of a single person rarely matter. I often complain that devs never listen to my beta reports but in the end... why would they? I'm just one of many. I'd have to create a petition or something and thanks to NDAs I can't do that.

It just irks me to see that I was right and that mistakes could have been prevented, features could be implemented sooner and financial/critical success could have been achieved ... if they just listened to me. ;)

You know what annoys me? When I time my post so it appears at the top of a new page and then the mods delete a post somewhere else in the thread and mine is moved to the bottom of the last page, ignored by everyone... that kind of upsets me. ^^

I'd throw Allan in there as well. He tried for two years to make the forums a better place, but he just got burnt out doing it all on his own and got overwhelmed by with trying to moderate and participate at the same time.

The suggestion thrown out earlier about having mods never actually moderate threads they were participating in sounded like one that might have kept him from growing to dislike being in this place. Who knows.

Nothing can be done about that, though. That happens to everyone.

I thought Allan Schumacher was regularly participating on these boards more recently than Priestly; not really sure when/if he dropped off (especially since I haven't been following the Dragon Age boards very much).

EDIT: Totally ninja'd by Fast Jimmy.

When I think of Community Managers, I think of people like Sanya Thomas (EA Mythic) or some of the CMs working for GOA. I know one of them (Sterntaler) joined EA Mythic, then was merged into BioWare and I think now he's working for Bethesda. Those people connected with the community, they were the ones who would get answers from the devs and who brought issues of the playerbase to the developers.

I have never seen anything like that here.

I remember her from playing DAOC and even before that when she was a volunteer mod for Everquest. Just Google 'Tweety rants'. :)

Yes! She was awesome... I loved her weekly grab bags, where she got the devs to answer FAQs.

Wow.... No more Off Topic board?  Well that explains why I can't post on the MGSV topic. This decision is pretty darn idiotic.  I guess I'll come back to see if Andromeda is decent other than that you pretty much took the only reason why I visit these forums. Dragon Age was decent but I lost interest in it. And I have no desire to go back to previous Bioware games because I'm not currently playing so they're not on my mind so I'm just going to go, before I type a string of obscenities on how this is a really really dumb decision you've made.
