I hope so. Though this happening sort of answers that.
For what it's worth, axing The Lobby was not exactly on my list of suggestions.

Maybe I'm just misreading you
Yep. ![]()

It wasn't on anyone's. This is entirely Bioware's doing.

Nah there was one person back on page 19 or so who seemed really keen on the idea. Maybe an OTer stole his lunch money.
I'm talking about those that sent in advice and suggestions to make the forum experience better, not people up in here. ![]()
Yep.
Fair enough. As I said, we haven't interacted much, so I'm still learning your general tone and personality.
The last time I saw him was right around the time the Gamergate thread was going, so about a year now. I think that was a rough time for them moreso outside the forum. You had Gaider chased off twitter, right? And in the forum was kinda weird, we had people getting accounts just for that thread then vanishing it seemed like. I wonder if BSN reputation had much to do with it, I think I still saw articles about Bioware's "special" fans even just a couple months ago. People outside the forum equate us all with toxic trolls.
David's still on Twitter. He shut down his Tumblr.
And with DragonRacer I'm now out of likes. Sorry, I owe you one. ![]()

Makes sense. No worries, I'm not one of the big bads. ![]()

Who knows, maybe this is the fruit of his years of painstaking labor to get us shut down.
Well played, guy.
See, now I miss the anime and manga thread and I only popped in there from time to time.
To be fair, everyone is a couple notches higher in their hostility due to the crappy way this all went down.
I'm trying to not be a couple notches higher in hostility. I'm totally calm, cool, collected, and in control actually.
But I don't have to like Bioware's decision making. And haven't liked it for a long time now.
I did. Sent in a rather large treatise (6 pages) carefully outlining my thoughts on some of the problems with the forum and some ideas on how I thought it could be improved and methods for bringing about said improvement.
It made the rounds inside, from what I heard from a few devs.
But that was back in February. Unsure of anything that's happened since then, as far as if it helped give any ideas or start any brainstorms.
But does pages 1 through 4 stating "give me a hok ring, give me a hok ring, give me an hok ring" ala the novel in the shining really do anyone good? <----The following may have been humorous if it was in an off topic forum, but it just looks silly here.

Absolutely understandable.
Absolutely understandable.
Especially Jimmy. Not normally like this, so don't think this is the norm.

I just realized BioWare is in violation of Site Rule #9:
We recognize the desire of some players to have smaller conversations or discussions among a more personal subset of the community. However, because the Forum exists to discuss BioWare products, please create and maintain groups around related subject matter. We understand that sometimes, straying off-topic is unavoidable, but if you want to participate in a group completely unrelated to BioWare, you can create or join the conversation in pre-existing threads in The Lobby, the off-topic sub-forum. Groups there are subject to the same rules as the rest of the Forum. By creating a group, owners are responsible for understanding and being knowledgeable of the site rules, and they agree to moderate their group content. BioWare moderators will follow up on any reports and take appropriate action, which may include closing groups that are inappropriate or largely off-topic.
Looks to me this was done on a whim more than anything else and that is extremely worrisome.

Guess they're gonna be changing the site rules. Not yet though, not until they decide in the short term if this will be a permanent change or if they flip back to opening up our space to talk about other things with Bioware fans.

I'm listening to music to keep calm. I can recommend pretty much everything here: https://www.youtube....atropics/videos
Yes, normally I would have posted the best ones in the offtopic thread. ![]()

I've been wandering the net trying to keep entertained. Its easy to talk about how much this SUCKS but it'd be better if I was here able to talk about all sorts of things.

While they're at it they might revise their Philosophy as well. Respect is a two-way street after all and making such drastic changes without so much as having an honest and constructive discussion about it doesn't seem to be too respectful towards fans.
