While they're at it they might revise their Philosophy as well. Respect is a two-way street after all and making such drastic changes without so much as having an honest and constructive discussion about it doesn't seem to be too respectful towards fans.

I don't think they'll see it that way, unfortunately. Its becoming hard to have trust and faith. And I'd like to.

Especially Jimmy. Not normally like this, so don't think this is the norm.

I'm a mite bit more crabby than normal, I agree.

But it's only because this was done to specifically target me. Or, at least, people exactly like me. Longtime fans of Bioware who haven't liked their games direction over the past few titles and who only have criticism for much of what they do... but who actually developed some good friendships and discussions over the years enough to really enjoy hanging out here and discussing things with people, new and old.

I'm precisely who they hope to cut loose with this gesture. Which I can understand, honestly... but there's ways to do it. And none of them involve a notification policy shorter than 1,000 seconds. Bond villains self-destruct lairs with more time than that, for Christ's sake.

*sigh* Well, I don;t know. I'm sad. This makes me sad.

It just makes it really feel like they really don't like us. At all. And the thing is, I like most of them. There are some real cool, folks that work for BW. I like them as people. There are one, or two, that I would not like even irl. But the devs were a cool bunch of nerds.

I was routing for them. Always. Even amidst criticism. I criticized sometimes because the truth is that I saw something of greatness in them. I wanted them to reach that.

But it's been clear for awhile that they consider us as thorns in their side, or maybe the EA Magisters are the ones that see us as only BSN Trashtm.

Tbh, I've seen far, far more scary, crazy things leveled at them from Twitter.

There's been anger on the BSN, but there's also been a great deal of very intelligent "feedback". Ppl trying to talk to BW like  they're children so as not to scare them away with their overwhelming passions.

I admit I'm being biased when I say I think (hope) this is not an attitude of BW devs, but rather from EA marketing? I really hope that because...reasons.

BW once had fun with their games. The devs would come out to the conventions and cosplay. Initiating ppl into the grey wardens, and all that. lol! It's does not seem fun anymore. It's business now.

Even the people that heavily criticize BW stick around. Why? Because they believe and are waiting for BW to make the great "Comeback" story. Roar back and sock it to the gaming world!

Or maybe they're just Jelly about the OT. Or maybe this is one step closer to shutting down the BSN.

They treat and have treated the BSN like their peasant relatives that they don;t want the world to know they came from.

...they need to stop listening to those EA PR people. I don't think they actually know what they're doing. Or rather they don't care. They see you only as walking numbers and wallets. They're about the Hunt. Not the community.

And when some people would try to come to these boards, for example, talking smack about Hepler, I would see BSN tell them in no uncertain terms, "Leave. And don't you ever come back."

There are alot of good people here. There are some weird ones, too. I mean, though, it is the internet. I don;t think the other communities that you grovel in front of to get their attention are any better.

Tbh, what keeps me coming back, what keeps me holding on to my games, has alot to do with the community-the fans and the Devs. There are few games I hold on to. Even fewer I buy dlc for. Just saying. BW is the exception to that rule, and alot that has to do with the community. But BW/EA has been doing some things lately that give me pause....

Add my vote to the "This was a mistake" column.

Even if there are good reasons to do this, which haven't been stated, the horrible execution of it makes it offensive regardless of the original intent behind this reformat.

Seriously, 12 minutes of warning is a joke. They didn't give a damn about those in other time zones, people at work, etc etc having the time to communicate with friends.

I know. I obviously missed out on a good thing and didn't realize it until it was gone.

It took 4 hours to sort out. Hell if it wasn't for Vroom things would still be a mess.

Don't get too worked up about it. What's done is done. All we can hope for is that they're actually willing to listen and converse.

I feel I may be missing something here, but is this about a future plan now? Because as far as I can see, the OT has been reopened and is going more or less normally despite a few locked topics.

Not certain, but do not believe posting continues as all the top threads begin with yesterday's entries.

Well so far we've had little two-way conversing and we don't have a clue whether they'll listen to us or not. What are we to do, take their word for it? The same word that said Deception would get revisions it never got? The same word that said ME3 wouldn't have ABC endings when its exactly what it had? The same word that the countdown was leading to a major thing for Bioware fans worldwide that ended up being a sale of items to people in most U.S. states and nowhere else?

That word? Because while I'd love to forget all that and let bygones be bygones, Bioware hasn't made an attempt to win back faith and trust in us after those pitfalls.

How am I supposed to know we aren't being led on right now?

That all this is pointless and will lead to nothing?

That I just lost 99% of the people I talk to daily here and will lose more with time?

Um... all topics remain locked so I'd say OT is locked down.

Off Topic has never been reopened. Its still locked and no regular forum user can post in any of its threads.

Bunz isn't even here anymore.

No one is. Or, at least, no one will be. Come ME:A in a year or so, there might be a spike, and some residuals on the MP forums.

But all in all, the forums will wither over time, becoming weaker with each passing month. Even those who never strayed from their respective franchise forums will now only have to glance over at the graveyard that is the OT section and know that anything they say, any feedback they give, any conversation they want to have... it is all falling on the deafest of ears.

Because Bioware isn't here. And they certainly aren't listening.
