I made a group to do something of the sort, but t didnt get used much. Maybe in a group would be beneficial- forum improvement society or something. Give us a place to discuss ideas. we cant go out without trying. I mean...they may never respond but at least we tried, right?

 

That's what I'm thinking at this point. I mean, no one has responded in this thread or the other one. It's just been a vacuum of silence. And unless we can show that we're truly a community then we haven't given them a reason to care.

The only productive thing that'll come from this is Off Topic being opened up again. And thats if they retract their earlier sentiment that getting rid of off topic which leads to sending off topic denizens away will make the community stronger.

I wish Allan would come back for like one hour and tell us what made him leave and tell us how they honestly view the forums. Just one hour.

 

It wouldn't take an hour. Allan left because he became with friends with people here and then had to moderate them, sometimes mid-conversation and sometimes with his own bias in things. People turned on him and he grew sour to the whole community. 

 

At least from my viewpoint. He got tired of trying to talk to people and trying to police them both at the same time. Its a monumental task to wear both hats, as a developer and a moderator. And he was doing it alone and in his off time.

I mean, Conal HAS a Twitter account. Not sure if anyone has gone barking up that tree, but it has to be more successful than here. Because interacting with Bioware anywhere besides their forums is always more effective.

Thing is Twitter and facebook are key.

Nothing really gets out of here unless there's a major cataclysm.

 

If you'd get a good letter about the decline of the moderation on the forum through the years , and then have a number of people sending that to higher ups in places where people outside of here could see...it could get attention.(Twitter/facebook)

We're at a low as far as forum activity goes.

I hope he doesn't feel that way either. He and I had great conversations, but I got the feeling towards the end of his run here he was getting tired of the forum and his coworkers might've given him a "we told you so".

I'm not going anywhere. I'm fighting this fight no matter how futile it is. I didn't make all these friends here and have wonderful conversations over years and years to see it thrown away on a whim with barely a warning because it somehow "strengthens" this community. Yeah right.
