I don't know how many people would want to come back, or even can. Vitriol begets vitriol, and the understandable reaction of some means that they won't even be able to come back following bans.

 

Still, I do truly believe its worth a shot.

 

And I definitely hold some degree of morbid curiosity about the whole thing that makes me keep up with it. Just how far has a company I once respected fallen? Do they truly believe that consumer relations like this are acceptable? That such attitudes are in any way beneficial in the long term?

 

We'll see when, if ever, things start to get addressed.

Now in all fairness, there were/are oddjobs on the OTC and bashers go wherever an audience is so of course some will have found their way to OT (though I haven't seen anything actually growing/festering in OT, so I suppose we were a bad audience ... such a shame that).

 

There's bad eggs everywhere, can't help that if you don't actively moderate your place.

 

But I absolutely agree that out of all sections this forum has, OT is easily one of the LEAST hostile places. I mean, your waifu are all ****, but that's it.

Yeah, And you know what? Screw those people. F*** 'em! THAT's what community management is for. Create and cultivate a friendly community ... and if there's anyone around who takes the p*** out of people, be that the company or other users, then you kick them in their virtual groin and close the door.

 

What you DON'T do is let those people stay and fester, and then down the road decide to generalize the whole community as toxic and arbitrarily nuke it, irregardless of the fact whether the place you just shut down actually is hostile or not.

 

You punish individuals. Not communities for what individual nutjobs did. I have not seen any of those idiots in Offtopic. Those unrepentant company bashers almost explusively spread their hate on the respective game sections.

 

And this is what gets me. Why bring down good people because of a few bad apples?

Off Topic deserves a hell of a lot more than a couple of minutes a few times a day. The amount of work put on there by everyone took time. We should take that time to bring it back.

BW is dying, they can't make decent games anymore, and they treat their fans the "EA way", people should treat them the same way and ditch them and move to superior Bethesda and Obsidian.

Not one of. It WAS the least hostile. There's a REASON people went to the off topic section and chilled there between game releases. It was either out of boredom/wanting to be refreshed or to AVOID the kind of things you see pop up in ME and DA sections all the time that deserve punishments.

 

Off Topic was like, the lounge where people sit down on big comfy chairs and talk to each other about various things while having a drink, meanwhile on the other side of the door is a rave or mosh pit.

 

Now they want everyone in those raves and we can't have a place to chill out anymore. Its ridiculous.

That would be stupid. Andromeda is a LONG ways away. We need a place to congregate here and keep our minds off of it between info dumps. How are we supposed to manage? The DA section? Inquisition? Where the game's already been out long enough thats its free on EA Access?

That's hardly deletion or banworthy. It's a civil plea to the only person we know is involved to some degree in this. If that would mean you'd single him out and is judged as an offense, someone should look up some basic principles on how communication and interaction works.

And Jimmy, No worries there. You've just expressed your Feedback, tried to reach a consensus and actually have an answer for this thing happening around here , along with many, many, MANY others.

 

So, honestly Bioware, what really happened? TBH, most of those ME Forums(Can't speak for the DA Forums, since I don't go in there) are now purely speculation, troll threads(Tali's Sweat in ME:Andromeda, thoughts?) and people saying that the game isn't what they want just because they saw a TEASER TRAILER

 

Hell, they are even more rowdy than the OT Forums. Sure, we in off-Topic do argue with each other... Why? Because that Happens in real life too. People don't have to agree with everything. Sometimes it was just a bad day and then the person that did that either forgot or simply apologized. And why does that happen? Because we express that we don't like a game?

Because we actually had something to discuss around here. Many things, which I've already said in my previous post and many other people said before me and will say after me. And because discussion happened here, people disagreed, because that is what happens. People sometimes harm each other with words if they find themselves losing that discussion, but that's the way people are. Nothing that a good moderation team could fix.

 

And to people actually not contributing to the actual discussion and just "Oh BW you suck, blah blah" please leave. This is the exact reason why Bioware devs won't talk to us. We try to build an amazing relationship with them and then you just ruin it by saying what you want because YOU are behind a monitor, and sometimes you don't even mean that (Heh, see the Off-Topic Reference here?)

 And because of it, we simply are a Toxic Community. Because of the minority that did something rowdy.

 

And I apologize for bringing this up, but I DO need to bring this up, Bryan Johnson said that if anyone wants to find him, Reddit would be the place for it.

Shut the whole thing down. If Off Topic, the cleanest part of the forum wasn't worth it, then honestly none of it is. Unless the other sections are only worth it for those that bow at the feet of employees.

 

Seriously, the kind of adoration they get in some places, like say the Twitter threads, is kind of scary at times. I thought that thread was for updates about the games being posted, but instead its become, "Lets track their lives and every move they make".

I can be very old around here if that's what would make you content(i can teach you some stuff too), i don't have a very "fond" memories with the mods here nor with BW treatment to us, plus am just stating facts, their last three installments(DA2,ME3,DAI) all sucked big time, and i just hppen to have the balls to tell them that.
