That is the biggest discourse right there, come out and talk. Explain your reasons for this. Seemingly putting your fingers in your ears and ignoring the whole thing is not going to make it better. You have posters that have participated in areas other than off topic, that really at this point dont wish to even participate there anymore. If it was truly a matter of off topic being such a bad place then it should have been an across the board all languages lock down. Not some lame excuse about it has a different community of moderators.

Bioware doesn't want to be here in any public capacity unless necessary.

No, but will use this opportunity to indicate why Devs likely prefer to remain in orbit.

I take full resposibility for the editing of this quote. The opinion is mine and I should bear any punishment that would otherwise fall upon Prince for it.

Please don't edit my post that way so Bioware thinks I said something I didn't. Assuming they don't know that stands for "fixed that for you".

Alternative solution: punt unreasably vocal people in orbit and have pleasent garden parties with all those people who like the games and aren't GIFT'ed.

Heh. There is a large army of ghosts hammering my Reddit post with Downvotes. Curious how many of them are fans and how many are employees.

Not any more they don't.  :(

Happily, there are other places to find good music.  :)

Sure there are

*cough* VSN *cough*

Prince, I hate to say it, and I didn't want to,but we got let go... It's been too long without any official response. This is basically a place to vent and be careful about the moderation now. People already gave their Feedback, put up their text, discussed it through 65 pages... If Bioware is taking any consideration, honestly, they are looking through everyone that posted this thread.

You're just wasting your breath, c'mon man... I know how you feel, but it's time to let go.

An astute observation as always from BW holy defender, sure thing they'll stay away because of silly little me.

criticise them for once, you'll feel good, you have it in you, unleash the rage within.

Cannot say I disagree, but the threats, name-calling, etc might be hard to forget for some.

Not because of one alone, but because of many posters like this. Disrespectful, unruly, do not abide by the ToS, flamers, trolls, etc. I would not wish to have to moderate this, let alone pay for it.

Forgetting isn't necessary. Any public figure will attract nutjobs. And the more passionate a fanbase is, the more likely it is that it contains a couple people with an unhealthy amount of passion which turns them into nutjobs. That how it works sadly.

What's important is that everyone keeps in mind that most people would gladly kick in those nuts and then recommence talking about the thing they love, preferably with the people who created the thing they loved.

You do see the irony?

Bioware acts with impunity, neither discussing the reasons why, nor providing a dialogue where people feel like they can be heard
Poster gets agitated because Bioware doesn't respond.
Bioware looks at poster, saying "well, that's why we don't post there."
Posted gets more agitated in the deafening silence or by back-handed comments found in other media outlets.
Bioware shuts down forums due to toxic atmosphere.

There's a first step in this entire sequence of events that can diffuse all of it. Hint: it isn't one the poster can take.

Yes. This place could do with a crackdown.

But in form of precision strikes, not nukes.

THE FACT THAT THEY ARE LEAVING A MESS LIKE THIS ALONE FOR 2 DAYS IS A BAD THING!! A few hours can be forgiven the mods aren't immortal beings they have lives and stuff, but i've mentioned in the past about how spam and troll threads would stay up in OT for weeks at a time that is definitely not how you treat a forum.

I cannot say why Bioware took this course of action; only guess at it. As much as some may believe it, I do not work for Bioware; nor have inside intel as to their decisions. Not speaking for Bioware; only for myself.

And what I am saying is that the repeated actions by others may have caused the reprisal seen this week.

Except it is ultimately Bioware's responsibility to manage the site properly. If there are issues with features, Bioware has to fix them. If there are problem posters, Bioware has to deal with them. If there is ill sentiment from the community, Bioware is obligated to address the issue and rectify the situation as best they can. Calling the place toxic and running away from the problem is cowardly and solves nothing.

So according to BJ, Allan was once a temp community manager.

http://vroomvroom.fr...9&scrollTo=3611

I interacted with Allan a ton back then and not once did I know that he was at the time temporarily a community manager.

Is that not acknowledged as a problem? That we don't even know who's in charge at times?

We're just expected to fumble around here with issues until a community management team shows up on occasion with an announcement that we either like or dislike, no other interactions on a regular basis?

I'm...what?

Which I believe is a very poor premise.

Yes, Twitter (as an example) has a base of millions of users. Yet, you have to know there is an account and be a follower of Bioware on Twitter. But very little of use actually comes out on the DA/ME or Bioware Twitter accounts - most of the bits of information come out from the individual accounts of Bioware employees. A person would need to know this, then need to know who these people even are that would be worth following.

THAT is the natural progression of someone who isn't a Bioware fanboy. Not to cyber stalk a company's employees to find all of their various social media accounts in the hopes that they say something in their personal account that they, for reasons unfathomable, DIDN'T put on the actual company site.

To suggest Bioware is reaching more of the masses through social media is just plain lunacy. They are simply reaching more of the people who worship the ground they walk on.

Like I want to see tons of crap from people I don't know or care about in my notifications.

How many gamers even twitter follow devs?

Ony the biggest fanboys and information starved hype-eaters.

Trying to reach out to people who aren't interested in such a way is retarded.
