It won't work. Just saying that now. They'll be attacked by all the people in the ME and DA sections that are salivating for the opportunity, calling them cowards or whatever it is.

Might just be what we need. A target and an opportunity to get all the nutjobs out of the woodwork. Any who bites the bait, flies. You know aswell as I do that some people on BSN have long since overstayed their welcome and are only here because no one cared enough before.

Bringing this to other sections just makes what they did acceptable. Screw that, be better.

Then at least get the attention of guys on Twitter. Cause at this point this thread is a condemned building they're allowing allowing people to stay at until the kick everyone out and finish blowing it up.

Bioware idea on how to improve community is that Mike Laidlaw just keep retweeting how folks enjoyed the descent and silly stuff and of course the romance yay.

Go check the feedback & suggestions forum and participate there even if little so the fans know you're there listening to their toughts and concerns , there's the real sh*t, not the fanatics who keep on praising you until it's too late, a true fan find the guts in him to tell you that DAI is a broken game "Fuc*ing fix it*, how long since it's release and yet it's war table scripting and plot flags change as they like, and on top of that you release Two weapons DLCs one of them should've been in JOH, and the other is bugged to the core, and tons of threads were made concerning this matter and you just wouldn't listen nor would you care and do somehing about it.

Killing OT will only improve the current image of yours , which is not so pretty eaware.

This is Shepard curse in work.

Agreed, but I don't think having giant targets on an anon-back is the way to go about it. Gotta be better.

Fine, but then I'm going down swinging for my friends.

Screw that. How about all the innocent people caught in the crossfire then? Apparently I have a good reputation here, so why did I have to lose my place to talk to Bioware fans about other subjects? How about the LOADS of other people with good reputations, that have done no wrong?

Am kinda used to it. In the military, one person stole something, everyone was punished. If someone was fighting, everyone was disciplined. This was also repeated during my work history, though not as directly as grass drills or push-ups. but everyone was punished as a result.

It may not be fair, and may not agree with it, but I do understand it. And for Bioware, it may work.

Bioware's forums should be nothing like the military. And I know the stories, my stepfather is a 20 year veteran of the U.S. Army and Army Reserve, E6 Staff Sergeant.

I've heard PLENTY of stories of one person doing something and everyone getting in trouble for it. That shouldn't be used with civilians.

The little I have seen of Reddit reminds me a tad of the very first Bioware boards I saw back in '98 or so.

I came in 2011, under a different name- then I had Avejajed, but that name was deleted in purged when I left last year for however long. This one is a new version of Avejajed.  When I first started under Dejajeva, the boards were so much fun. I'd come and go depending on new releases, but still.

I cannot say why Bioware took this course of action; only guess at it. As much as some may believe it, I do not work for Bioware; nor have inside intel as to their decisions. Not speaking for Bioware; only for myself.

And what I am saying is that the repeated actions by others may have caused the reprisal seen this week.

Thing is, I could be referring to countless other decisions made by Bioware about their forums or even their games and it would be just as applicable. This isn't a scenario that only applies to the Off Topic forum shutdown.

Doesn't make it right OR effective in every field.

If by "work," you mean reduce the entire forums to the text equivalent of a call center outsourced to a third world country to save effort and money, sure. If you mean making the boards a better place by reducing the number of "haters" or non-productive posting in the game sections, then no. Nothing about the forums will become better as a result of this. It will only become cheaper.

I want to know what will be done to the ME and DA sections. The "we'll rely on posters to use spoiler tags" thing is lol worthy.

Based on what I recall, Bioware stated they wish to focus on discussion of their games. This 'fix' may work for them, whether or not one agrees with it.

And what happens in those fields is some form of improvement in behaviour following such generalised punishment.

We don't have the capacity for that here. There's nothing left to improve upon as most off topic dwellers, ergo those punished, are moving on.

Peer pressure followed my moderator support seems to work on current discussion threads as a rule.

Which means less minds in the ME and DA sections, meaning less benefits, less criticisms, and less of anything good that can come from more minds.

For those not discussing games, that may be what is best for them. But for folks like myself where OT is secondary (not the primary reason I post here, but not inferior discussions), I plan on staying on here.

Our guest informed us that a Bioware employee had been doxxed. I would like to remind everyone that doxxing and attacking people is bad, don't do it. The Lobby isn't worth destroying someone's life (especially one that isn't even related the decision to remove it at that). Please either move on or focus your anger/disappointment/sadness in more productive ways that won't hurt anyone.

Doxxing and attacking people is not the answer.

Agreed. This isn't a freaking job. Or even a form of service to a country that needs defending. This is a form of entertainment. People shouldn't need to "tough it out" because Bioware can't keep the peace or because it's own people are too afraid to show up. They should be able to provide a place where their employees feel at ease and their consumers feel acknowledged. If they can't do that, they should either shut down the boards altogether or open back up Off Topic and be resigned to people posting Cat gifs.

Because right now, the forum will do nothing but gather and concentrate some of the most dangerous elements of the fanbase - the hyper critical and the hyper passionate. Anyone else will lose interest too quickly with nothing but people talking about the same arguments or the same discussions over and over again. Only those who are starved for the next release tidbit (and who can then fight or gush over something new instead of something stale) will hang around.

That's not a community... that's a crack den.

Its not, I can promise you that.

Some people can't even make the switch for various reasons, meaning I and others have lost one avenue of discussing with people we consider friends.

You're right in that was the primary reason keeping us here. But in turn the forum now loses all of this:

Which means less minds in the ME and DA sections, meaning less benefits, less criticisms, and less of anything good that can come from more minds.

This is to the benefit of absolutely no one.
