The silence is a big a indication it is. You and others can try of course. But I think many just don't have the time or energy for it. I sure don't.
In case you didn't see what was posted earlier, Conal(who can actually help us as the community manager) is currently at PAX. We are likely to not hear anything or see any changes until PAX concludes. So I'd wait before we jump to the conclusion that they're looking at this and choosing not to connect with us.

To be honest, I don't do this for everyone. I do this for myself because I would rather not lose the connections I've made in which are about as close to friends as it gets on the internet. I'm no saint ... in fact I'd laugh in the face of the first person that would call me such or anything like it. I do this for very egoistic reasons, it's just that it so happens that a lot more people would likewise benefit from it.

Yeah I don't get it either. If things hadn't changed we'd not be in this thread, at least not talking about the removal of off topic and disconnect we feel with management. Instead we'd be all over the forum talking about whatever comes to mind. And as for the hundreds who posted in this thread, we'd be in off topic, smiling and laughing and having a grand time with one another.

Plus, solidarity. Lurking in this thread does no one any good. BW should know how many people have been affected.
I'm over at the VSN now, but I'm still having a hard time keeping up with friends, and more importantly, it's a pretty self-selecting group. I don't have the opportunity to meet other people who happen to wander by with shared interests and new perspectives and fun things to introduce me to. I'm still shocked that off topic was shut down and I haven't figured out how to handle it. This used to be a one stop shop for me, now I'm maintaining a presence here and trying to follow everyone else over in the alternate forums. Can't blame you for holding out. I miss the community we had here and it's nice to have another place to go for it.

I'm pretty sure I'm making a straight up factual statement when I claim that the overwhelming majority of people reacting to this have been civil and mature about it. Certainly many have been very visibly angry, but not exaggeratedly so. Of course there are a few who just chose to fling some mud and vent or make some snide jokes, but this thread has been very civil for the most part.

I really don't want to take a vacation and see if things have changed when I come back, but who knows what'll happen. I'm holding out as much as possible because as I told Earthbound before, its not just the relationships we all formed together here in the past or the ones we have now;its about people in the future that are gonna miss opportunities to make lasting friendships because the BEST place for it got sacked.
I can't imagine not knowing all the people I've grown to love here.

Let's face it , if they were gonna fix the tons of bugs , they would've done already , the last patch was all MP content , the SP stopped being priority long time ago.
Oh, I know. I'm not optimistic. I think the last two patches have been MP only, actually. It just makes me sad. These days it seems like games are more bug-ridden from being rushed, but patching is not upped accordingly. Or at least enough. If they spent a little longer fixing these things before release, they wouldn't need so many patches!
