I mean dang, I may have to stop posting here now. Apparently people are getting the wrong impression of my intentions here. *shrugs*

I really don't want to take a vacation and see if things have changed when I come back, but who knows what'll happen. I'm holding out as much as possible because as I told Earthbound before, its not just the relationships we all formed together here in the past or the ones we have now;its about people in the future that are gonna miss opportunities to make lasting friendships because the BEST place for it got sacked.

I can't imagine not knowing all the people I've grown to love here.

Hold the Line, Prince. The future depends on it!

I'm pretty sure I'm making a straight up factual statement when I claim that the overwhelming majority of people reacting to this have been civil and mature about it. Certainly many have been very visibly angry, but not exaggeratedly so. Of course there are a few who just chose to fling some mud and vent or make some snide jokes, but this thread has been very civil for the most part.

The few who were saying things we didn't need and would only present bad things to the devs had people go at them for it so at least there's that.

This wouldn't of lasted three days if people were flinging mud at one another.

No! Stay here! You gotta keep fighting man!

Hold the Line, Prince. The future depends on it!

Compare that to those that think all of us still here are wasting our time.

Its a battle of how much are you willing and why.

And we need more people that are willing and know why they're doing it is right.

The value would be in what was being brought by the people that left? Signal to noise is better at the cost of a small number of insightful posts.

Ok, it's past 4am and I'm tired... so... what do you mean please? I don't get it.

Clearly not what they meant. They are implying our response is immature and shutting it down was the right decision.

Disclaimer: Currently on a treadmill so won't be able to post much or clearly

I am going onto the new IP, my role is a technical analyst. Meaning I work on mainly programmer backed work instead of designer systems. Generally DLC is focused on design backed work so the work I am best at is not really present. The type of work I am best at is what is needed on the new IP. For the last 2 months on DA:I I have been jumping around to most things we are doing. So there is much less for me to do. This kind of thing happened on Mass Effect 3, where the type of work I do dwindled to very little and I spent my time doing other things.

Who the hell replies to posts on a forum while running on a treadmill?? You must have some kind of special coordination skills.

I'm replying to this post while doing push-ups. Typing with my nose doesn't require any special coordination skills, only decent aim. ;)

That is incredible, assuming he's not stationary on it and is only running after he posts. I like to think he's got fantastic coordination and we don't even know.

That was my reaction. The change was abrupt and before continuing constructive participation on the forums I needed time to evaluate.

What I meant by Signal-to-Noise was the remaining threads are quieter and the posts being made are easier to navigate.

Yeah I don't get it either. If things hadn't changed we'd not be in this thread, at least not talking about the removal of off topic and disconnect we feel with management. Instead we'd be all over the forum talking about whatever comes to mind. And as for the hundreds who posted in this thread, we'd be in off topic, smiling and laughing and having a grand time with one another.

Ironically for Bioware, I'd actually be posting more in their DA:I section had they not closed off-topic and diverted my attention here...

I'd normally say thats odd but you clarified quite well earlier why this is the case, so not strange at all.  :)

The answer can't be to just roll over and give up. It just can't be. That would never feel right, and those poor future fans will never understand if the effort isn't made. What if the guys in The Alamo just said screw it and surrendered? There would be no inspiring, uplifting tails to inspire future generations.

Admittedly I'm talking about people dying for freedoms compared to the ability to talk to each other, it's not a fair comparison in the slightest. But hopefully I still made my point.

I doubt the locking of the offtopic had any effect on the franchise boards. I don't see any less activity there. Most posters who left were only active in the offtopic anyway.

I've posted from an eliptical before, but that's user driven speed.   I can't imagine trying to keep up with the the belt speed and use my hands and brain at the same time. I mean, I can't even read subtitles while working out.  Tread mill posting?  That takes skill, man.

Oh, I know. I'm not optimistic. I think the last two patches have been MP only, actually. It just makes me sad. These days it seems like games are more bug-ridden from being rushed, but patching is not upped accordingly. Or at least enough. If they spent a little longer fixing these things before release, they wouldn't need so many patches!

Exactly i mean what are we even talking about here , it's not like this hadn't been addressed hundreds of times , DAI has been by far the most bugged DA game , the war table what a brilliant idea if only they've dedicated more time working on it , it's scripting and plot flags change in the most bizarre pattern.

And their claim that it's a game made for PC players , turn out to have the worst PC port over the three installments , *sigh* it is what it is , no reason to keep up with this matter , it's been a long time since the game release and it's yet to be fixed , it's disgrace and not BW quality or is it? i cannot tell.

BioWare will have the hard facts on any changes in activity.  For the time being, this removal of the OT, like the removal of the old feed, appears to be beneficial.
