This has intentional as could be wrote all over it. They like did it when they did because they'd be gone for a week and had an excuse not to communicate with us, the hope being that it would completely have blown over upon return.

Seriously Conal, please open back the Lobby. You're just hurting the company's image even more if you censor people like that. Try discussing about it with the other staff members working on the forums and BioWare and please return the Lobby. The lobbyists didn't deserve this harsh treatment just because of a few bad apples.

So, yes... Bioware has a plan here. And the plan is to neuter this place so that only a fraction of people remain. I've already received PMs from people you hardly ever see in Off Topic (but post frequently in the Game sections) talking about how they are moving now, since there is little reason to stay. They don't see this as an improvement, they see it as a clear sign that Bioware is investing less time and effort here, not more.

You can pretty much count me among there.  I've been around since the old Mass Effect forums before BSN, but I've had my fill of Templar vs Mage, rachni, Cerberus, Council, Elves, and plenty of other discussions for years between the games.  I pretty much kept around a bit by going to the off-topic since I like hearing and sometimes discussing recent games with people, but there's not much reason for me to come here at all now really.

The biggest change to BSN was when the site staff and moderators stopped being members of the community. Having a forum community run by people who aren't members of that community is the biggest problem this place has. Practically everything wrong with it can be traced back to that.

Probably a decision enforced by EA to protect employees from angry users. Yet they don't really say much. In fact they don't reply to pm or questions. They use the same words as one another when locking a title. Even if they wanted to be apart of the community I'm sure someone would tel them they would lose their job if they did.

we do & we are, but sadly this wont change anything. you think bioware doesnt care about what people say in this thread? well, compared to the german subforum (which is the only one i can speak for), they do. last time a bioware/EA-employee (mods do not count) was seen there was at least 2 years ago.

There's not gonna be an official Dragons-n-Donuts DAIMP stream today since the majority of the team that stars on those is out at PAX this weekend.

 

They said they'll maybe be streaming some stuff from PAX and one of the DAIMP devs mentioned for us to keep an eye on PAX coverage (so, assuming more DAIMP stuff to come), but I haven't heard any official dates/times outside of the "Future of Dragon Age" panel being streamed tomorrow.

Oh, and as far as the changes affecting the DAIMP forums... not really. They merged two subforums ("Looking for a Group" and "Weapon and Armor Customization") that were little-used into the main "Combat Strategy" forum and called the whole shebang "Multiplayer". Since 90% of the MP posts were already happening in that main forum anyway, merging the other two into us basically changed nothing.

My god, are people who run this "studio" if you could call it that apsolutely retarded? Bad enough that their games are donkey **** they now alienate entire segments of their fanbase. I don't visit these forums much but every time I do they do something stupid. Anyway I'm sorry for the people who enjoyed the off topic section of the forums, but you can't fight stupid.
