Templar: BodyGuard, Unbowed, Horn of Valor, Shield Wall
AW: PotA, Dispel, FS, FC
Ele: Firestorm, Barrier, Fire mine, Ice Mine
Keeper: Fade cloak, Barrier, Static Cage, DF
Yup. I like to think that each teammate should fill a specific role with unique capabilities that do not overlap with the rest of the team. i.e. if you die the entire team goes down. This is less true at higher promotes because then everyone is able to solo, which is pretty much gamebreaking.
Here's a short breakdown of our team composition:
Templar adds to the entire team survivability. Bodyguard, Horn of Valor (armor bonus), there is no darkness (damage resist). Horn of Valor also adds 50% attack (50% to damage_multiplier) for everyone in the team which is massive for overall damage output. Duration is better if you have the ring for it.
AW is CC and DPS. PotA synergizes extremely well with DF, SC / FM, IM. One dispeller is enough for the entire team because of the internal cooldown (it can't stack), and the AW has Gathering Storm + good mana recovery which allows him to spam it. Fade step is used for the Chilled effect in this scenario (-25% movement/attack speed, increases team survivability) so it doesn't overlap with the Weakened effect from PotA. Keep in mind that Weakened and all related Damage reduction passives are nearly useless at higher difficulties because of how it's calculated as a reduction based on the preset damage (not difficulty-related) rather than the final damage (result of preset damage multiplied by the difficulty factor). As a result "15% damage reduction" is closer to 5% total damage reduction
Ele is CC and DPS. Barrier, Firestorm (all except VC/DC vulnerable to knockdown), Ice Mine (all except DC vulnerable to Frozen), Fire Mine for DPS.
Keeper is all CC and no inherent DPS. Barrier, Static cage + ring (all except VC vulnerable to Paralyzed) for CC and massive boost to teamwork damage, Disruption Field + ring (all except VC/DC vulnerable to DF) and FC left unupgraded. (Note: the keeper was technically playing as a level 19 because I didn't know at the time that the ring upgraded DF on its own, which would've given me another point to spend)
Did you use TeamSpeak/Skype or someting like that? Because doing that without comunication would be AMAZIER.
No teamspeak, just a lot of practice and about 10 hrs of trial and error. A lot of this stuff becomes so intuitive after hours of practice (e.g. PotA + DF) that we don't even need to remind each other about what to do.
4 hours? I can't play MP for 2 hours at a time. That looked more like a raid than... whatever we're doing... I guess we are doing boss raids...
Yeah, lol. A lot of time was spent idling in the chatroom to discuss strategies for wave 5 though.
Just fyi wavebend, there is a clause in the beta which states that you cannot post any footage from the beta, pre and post live.
Beta has been shutdown so I'm not even sure this matters anymore.
