I've been through versions of these events a few times, so I wanted to mention a little up front for those of you coming to the group to continue the discussions from the Lobby thread.

It is technically a rule that Groups have to be about BioWare products. This change was made shortly after the move to the new site, and it means that, technically, the fate of a group dedicated to a non-BioWare game is to be deleted.
However, there are several groups not dedicated to BioWare games that do survive. I can't say for sure I know why, as no BioWare employee has decided to (or is likely to) explain why, but I have some pretty good ideas as to why those that survive have, so here are a few tips that might make a difference:
- Have a thread dedicated to something BioWare-related. Try and keep it at least semi-active. Even if it's "just for show," it can go a long way to justifying the group's existence, and there's so far been no indication that a group with an "off-topic thread" is a big no-no.
- Avoid discussing BioWare rules, employees, forums or moderation in the group. That wasn't likely to be too big an issue in here, but it's kind of a natural subject to come up during this early stage, given the change.
- Mostly, try and stay under the radar. From what I can see, moderators don't bother with groups unless given a reason to.

The creator of the group may receive a message during the early stages, indicating that the group has been marked for deletion (this happened with a couple of groups that I run.)
If that happens, write a PM explaining the BioWare thread's purpose (whatever that ends up being) and politely ask to have the deletion cancelled. I was able to stop the deletion of two groups that way, so it's worth doing, if any messages like that are received.
Good luck, everyone!
