Considering recent events, the Dragon's Dogma thread can no longer be used. If there is enough interest in keeping our little family together and Bioware isn't callous enough to close groups unrelated to their games then there should be little difficulty in transferring here. If not, then I wanted to let all of you know that I treasured these past few years together.
Off topic closure and where we go from here.

I'm at a loss. Even though I can think of a number of reasons they would choose to lop off the "off topic", all of them seem counterproductive to keeping a forum alive between game releases.
As for the DD thread, I need scrounge through some of my past posts. Add some of my more thought out and "helpful" additions. Not that there were many - too busy posting pictures of Chase staring at his navel.
We definitely need a place for @Shepen's continuing SAGA. This is important. *sharp nod*
Thanks again, @Carcharoth!

I could not figure out why i couldn't reply to any topics, then I realized I hadn't joined the group OTL
Well closing the Off Topic section sounds like an order from above by the Suits Upstairs; some marketing guru probably thought it would force users to converse in BioWare-only forums and hence be more inclined to buy BioWare products. These are usually where stupid decisions come from, from people who have no idea what they're doing, and they're usually wearing suits and make 4x as much as everyone else... for instance, this morning we got an email from the chancellor/president that we should be standing inside our classrooms 5 minutes before class starts to meet and greet our students to foster a feeling of community. "Oh Artemis how sweet you must teach kindergarten." No actually I teach college.... WTF.
In any case I'm happy to come here; I'll just have to remember to follow all the topics so I can get email notifications like I did about the thread.
We should have a thread where we just post our XBL info.

Holy shart. This is insane. My heart, she is breaking.
Yes, Off-Topic was a mess, but it was OUR mess, dammit. I always found most of the hostile trolls in the BioWare game forums, OT was more idiotic than evil. Hell, I'd volunteer to be a moderator for OT if they'd reopen it. Although considering pretty much nothing offends me and I don't see why people can't have political/religious discussions provided they're civil, I probably wouldn't be the type they're looking for.
As for this place, I've got a feeling this will be nuked as well. (Look at me being all positive.) But until it does, I'll be here, in this bomb shelter, clutching a camera.
You guys are my weird second family and I love you all.

Look, in the event that this gets closed... do you guys have a tumblr? Mine is curiousartemis.tumblr.com. Feel free to follow me. Heavey use of tumblr saviour if you're not an anime fan (but I queue my posts so only one goes up every hour; I don't spam).
Maybe, should this go under... we could stay in touch via tumblr, and Shep could post the reports that way, and we could chat with each other that way
We could post and share screenshots, too, strategies, etc.

I've no idea how tumblr works or what it even does, but anything that suggests a username of TremendousWolfPeach (Shepenwepet is TAKEN!) can't be all bad. (I'm looking into it.)
I still post almost daily on the Capcom Pawn Community, but we can't really have discussions there. Well, we COULD, but it'd be hard to follow.
And my report lives here. Although, again, no good place for discussion.

I jokingly announce I was leaving the Bioware forums and then a day later, the off topic is closing? It can't be a coincidence, Bioware got upset and thought what was the point of having the off-topic without their favourite poster.
Seriously though I did not see that coming any time soon. It's a god damn shame as there was just so much fun and drama to be had in the off-topic. I guess it was too much toxicity for Bioware's mods to handle! (No but seriously we were the best part of the entire forum and probably the most civil in comparison to the ME and Inquisition forums lol)
As you guys know I've not been part of all this pawn sharing and until Dragon's Dogma Online comes out in the west (and eventually - and hopefully - a Dragon's Dogma 2) I probably won't post much here or anywhere else in this forum for that matter but I'd like to give my thanks to each of you for keeping the Dragon's Dogma thread entertaining and going for so many years. There's been some good posts in that thread.
I share Shepenwepet's pessimism about the groups here seeing as the new "rules" want this forum to be a place only for discussion of Bioware and its games. As a result it's hard to see how groups not relating to such discussions will fit into any of this and I can see them being closed too, it wouldn't even surprise me now if the group system was removed entirely.

There's the Bio-Where Forum. A lot of people are heading over there.

I haven't had time to check out the alternate forums, but I am so, so glad that you all remembered me. That DD thread was started in 2011. I would be VERY sad if I lost touch with you guys.
I promise as soon as things settle down here I will try to check the other forum links. Please don't forget me!
And thanks to Eternal Phoenix for starting that thread and bringing us all together.
Maybe they will change their minds and re-open it?
This really kinda p*sses me off. I had hung in the DD, getting back to swtor and the witcher 3 threads FOREVER! ![]()

Ah, right. Thanks, Sir Elton. You should be ashamed.

I don't think they'll change their minds. They've been wanting to cut out the cancer that is off-topic for quite some time. Except we were totally cancer-free. But oh well, perhaps someday they shall see the error of their ways and reopen OT, long after everyone has left and forgotten about this place.

Silly Shep, BioWare never admits they've made a mistake. NEVER! *cue maniacal cackling, thunder and lightning.*

They do tend to double down on their decisions instead of admitting fault.

I also missed the question asked by moto about tumblr. I have one, but stopped using it ages ago, that place is...not where I want to be anymore. ![]()
It really makes me sad that BioWare prefers to use fb/twitter/instagram/reddit over their own forums. I don't use reddit and have been considering deleting twitter as it has become another tumblr.
I'm confused why they would prefer to nuke entire section of their forums rather than actually moderate them and do away with problem threads/topics/users.
Anyways, I did sign up on vroom. It's a little confusing to navigate but hopefully I'll learn to use it well enough soon ![]()

Hello, thanks for inviting me to the group. I have missed you all!
This is my first foray to the BSN this year. There was too much going on after DAI was released and some of the threads/posts put me off visiting. I generally found 'Off Topic' to be a friendlier place, DD being the best!
I didn't realise they were closing certain threads. Very sad, we need an outlet for Shepenwepet's creations.
I will take a look at the Vroom alternative thread, but I think I need to fire up the Xbox and PS to check my DD details for both my pawns Thomas and Rhys because I can't remember their levels or their vocations because it has been so long
. I have also noticed new pawn creations too.
I shall check in again soon, I feel bad it has been so long.
