The only thing they haven't done yet: hazard maps. I'm guessing this will be the last dlc / patch.
Acid rain in Ferelden Castle
Dense fog in Tevinter Ruins
Swarm of bees in Orlesian Chateau

If I had to guess (spelled hope) I'd say there will be 1 last DLC with (and here comes the hoping part):
- 1 new map (give us the deep roads already!)
- 2 new characters (warrior & mage - to make it even again)
but then again... we can't have good things

What happened to "longer than MEMP"
Where was this announced? Only the announcement on the main multiplayer page simply states that they are hiding any posts/threads that contained NDA content.
If it is to be discontinued though, it could be that there just aren't enough people signed up to make it a viable option, as there are plenty of maps & even new objectives that could be put out.
Thanks

it was announced in the beta forum directly (hope I'm allowed to say that...)
and there were not many but a few very dedicated testers (thanks to Wavebend & Co.) who tested the hell out of it ^^ so I don't think that was the reason for shutting it down

That was before the (key)bug(s), drama between you know who and a certain community manager and <insert another reason here, I am lazy>.
Hell, if there wouldn't have been as many bugs in the first few months, we'd have way more players right now.
The quality of DAMP is not that great, which leads to less platinum sales than expected. There is not going to be anymore support for DAMP if ea thinks it is not going to continuously make big enough profit on the platinum sale.
Bioware going bankrupt. Semi-confirmed rumor.
Andraste's toasty buns, you guys are a bunch of panic-mongers...
Beta program served its purpose and frankly didn't seem like a lot of people were actually active in it (guilty as charged as well, I signed up and played a little but nothing coordinated). The sky is not falling, the game is not ending. Chill...out.

Considering the complete lack of the real crafting system the reward for having crafting materials was massively diminished, add that to the less than spectacular drop rates and most people willing to spend money on RNG learned their lesson quite swiftly. At least in ME3MP you could buy boxes (with credits or real cash) that would guarantee certain drop rate percentages.
They shot themselves in the foot with the loot system as it is because it ended up being far more likely that people would just farm for gold and not feel like their wallets had been rifled through for 5 to 8 items they would just break down for parts.
The reason the RNG worked for ME3MP: 1.) The weapons leveled up when you acquired the same one multiple times (up to level 10) and when they maxed out you didn't see them again 2.) The parts that were found made the weapons far better, and all weapons had two part slots 3.) You could always get character cards that gave you experience points 4.) You could acquire items that allowed you to carry more consumables 5.)Buying a more expensive box guaranteed a far better payout instead of a minute change.
We also got our characters, weapons, accessories, maps and enemy unit upgrades/new units far swifter to keep the populace interested and possibly buying credits.

Actually, I really hope bioware would drop support for DAI now/soon so I can start using mods without worrying about new patches breaking the mods.
I still do not understand platinum
You could spend $100 and not get jack... well maybe some mats
Bw you should have sold maps.
Live and learn i guess

Agree. The DAMP development team learned nothing from the ME3MP development team. Judging from how the DAMP devs treated some of the people on this forum I would say that the reason the DAMP devs didn't learn a thing from their colleagues in Montreal could be just big ego.

The problem with the loot system (in my opinion) was that it gave items, I've said in the past that we should have had chests which contained mats & potions all of increasing value, the weapon & armour schematics should have unlocked by completing challenges, in fact, judging by one loading screen tutorial it gives that impression. If it had been that way, I believe that more people would have spent their own cash in, if they didn't have the gold, in order to craft some really strong weapons & armour...add dlc schematics into ultra expensive chests...
But we move on with how things are, let us see what the future holds for us.
Ever the eternal optimist
Honestly this game could have been a great multiplayer game... it just needed more focus and love, but if to sum up my opinion about what is wrong and what is right and what they should think of for the next game in line then i would say -
1) A more responsive and fast phased gameplay - It needs more mobility and a more fluid way of using those, i wont go into details that much but there are alot of games to compare to. ( I sometimes were getting really pissed of how slow the reaction in the game was, if u got fast reflex you should be able to use it instead of watching a slow animation of you falling down, getting up, and even the simple act of moving which feels chunky.
2) Looting - In a game that focuses on running the same dungeons over and over again, looting should be an importent part. ( picking up gold over and over again for use later on random chests is very underwhelming ).
3) Store - A more complex store that offer you all sort of stuff just like so many other games out there, and remove the random gold chest, its a horrible idea.
4) Text Chat + Add Friend + Clan = I know it talks less for console players, but honestly as a PC player that used to playing games online, when i join a game and aint able to chat with others and add them to my friend list with ease its a big deal breaker.
Well for conclusion its not likely to happen but i am crossing my fingers for ME4, i played DA:I for around 150hours and i played Alot of other online games and this is what bothered me the most about this game.
They would have made more money with glamour pieces and MT weapons... I pretty much never will buy platinum for RNG loot table slot machine...
If I wanted to gamble, I'd go the an actual casino and still have better odds at making my money back.

I actually do buy armour/gesture/taunt/weapon skin packs for glamour in other games because atleast I know the devs took their time making something original.
The RNG system and how you get items had nothing to do with me personally contributing funds for mp. I did make real dollar contributions to ME3mp most often after a good dlc had been released. I gave money because the product was good, the dlc came out regularly and was very good.
I have not contributed any real money to DAMP because the dlc has been sketchy at best, poorly promoted. But the main reason is due to the horrible reliability of the product. The number of disconnects, bugs, crashes although a bit improved lately has simply been unacceptable. I am not slagging on the BioWare people who look after this game because I think they have very thin resources and have been forced to use a pure crap engine for mp. Is frostbite pretty? Yes. Does it appear to be total garbage for a mp endeavor? Yes.
I have a huge worry about ME4mp also being el stinko as far as connectivity and bugs.

I'm honestly not as worried about ME:A MP than I am with DAMP.
1) Mass Effect, from a gameplay standpoint, is a shooter. That alone makes it much more marketable and accessible to players than the RPG nature of DAMP.
2) The world of Mass Effect has a much larger fanbase than that of Dragon Age. That isn't to say that Dragon Age isn't a great series, but people - in general - find the world of Mass Effect more appealing.
3) The developers don't have to make too many stark adjustments to the formula, since it's already proven to work successfully. If anything, they just need to smoothen out the gameplay and give it a new coat of paint (with new maps, abilities, weapons, etc), and most of the ME3 MP fanbase would flock right to it.
4) Mass Effect Andromeda will undoubtedly make more money than Dragon Age: Inquisition. When you look at both series, Mass Effect is far more successful financially. Even though Dragon Age: Origins is considered to be one of Biowares best works, it didn't sell as much as its popularity would lead on. The devs also didn't make that much of a profit when they made the Awakening DLC for it either. Having more money means more resources and people to work on the MP; something I think DAMP was unable to muster and why we're seeing all of these issues.
tl;dr: They'd have to royally f*** up ME:A's multiplayer in order for it to be as mediocre as DAMP. Even though DAMP has a great amount of potential, it doesn't have as much going for it as ME:A does.

Bioware said that DAI was their most successful game to date tho

They did sell more units at launch, but I'm curious as to how the totals measure up now.

I am very worried.
Will they make MEA an ME3 clone or make MEA a DAMP clone. The decision isn't very obvious.
And subtle 'features' like these will really f*** it up big time:
- an unlimited promotion system (no caps)
- RNG that gives duplicates / salvage system
- character ability damage tied to weapon damage
That last point is big. If they tie ability damage to weapon damage, I will just pass on the game. I know many other people who will too. It is such a huge limiting factor for gameplay.

We've got the same worries. Toss in the shitty matchmaking system in general (including region locking) & myriad bugs, and you've got a recipe for disaster.

One of your big points is that after a good DLC came out you may spend some money which makes sense because when you look at the different games there were some huge differences between the ME3 and the DAI systems.
That's just stuff dealing with the loot system differences. Compiling that with the early bugs, constant disconnects and errors still occurring such as NaN it makes most people far less likely to toss money into the RNG bank.
Note: I enjoy SP and MP for DA:I even with it in the state that it's in, but hopefully they've learned from all of the things that they did that people hated and improve or remove the aspects people disliked and improve on the stuff people liked.
