I'd like to know what it is that causes them to still pull out the missiles on w11 even when I've already gapped them by like 100k+. They can't seriously think that they'll score 18k per nuke, so what is it? Some sort of ego based defense mechanism or coping strategy based around the idea that having their GC5 Reegar AIU carried by a QFE or Locust Quarksman by 80k is less embarrassing than by 100k? Does seeing 6 vs 5 digits have a profoundly detrimental impact on their self-schema to the point that it cannot be repressed, much like those memories of their parents lavishing more attention on their other siblings (which is ultimately responsible for their attention seeking behavior aimed at anonymous video game players) cannot be? Or is the process simply so ingrained into their psyche that they engage in it regardless of whether they are being outscored or not, projecting this behavior onto other players as an attempt at normalisation?

Lesser race psych 101 is intriguing. Such curious creatures to study.

I think you are probably on to something with the 5 vs 6 digit score, like at least if they break that 100k barrier they are on somewhat comparable terms.

200,000

100,000

doesn't look as displaced as

200,000

60,000

When I hear them using a missile I silently smile for I know I have won.

I smile that much moreso when I know I still have 6 of my own...

Yeah I can understand that, although I still don't ever see myself nuking on objective waves or extraction (have not yet contracted scorewhore syndrome).  In the off chance that I come in under 100K, I certainly make a note to change kit/loadout/strategy for the next game.

You will always have 0 left when playing with me. That wave 11 on the Goddess game was fun.

fyi, just checked out some of the vids linked in your sig... that's real good stuff, and tbh not a whole lot of cheese IMO.  This guy that I played with yesterday was in his own plane of existence, lol.  Literally a raging aggro (vocal) player in a dysfunctional type of way.  And the only build he would use was his turian cabal reegar adrenaline garbage - he basically would get to spawns by teleporting through walls and running faster than anyone else, and then kill the whole spawn in a very non-tactical, shield-boosting, reegar to the face kind of way.  When I was disabling a device, I managed to time how fast he killed a brute... it was under 3 seconds, lol.

tl;dr: plenty of respect for you - your gameplay as demonstrated in your vids, is what I would expect out of a competitive gamer - it is diverse and effective, far from that of the Lame Orse Scorewhore Elite Reegar-tards (LOSERs).

Last night I ran into the worst scorewhore ever. I got dropped into a pre-set White/Geth lobby, with a Talon Merc with a Venom, spamming RMs and missiles like crazy. He didn't do ONE objective, nor he participated in anything. I got rekt many times trying to defuse the ****** devices, while this ******* was on the upper level, nuking every damn thing, just so they could respawn right behind me. His rockets were even flying as the shuttle was landing for extraction. His host was horrible as well, he probably lives on Mars. There was a wave, when I couldn't even tell which room I was in, because I teleported back and forth.

Question 1: I wouldn't know... Ask someone else on this boards maybe

Question 2: outscoring them by 100% even if they use 6 missiles on wave 11 and do no objective is usually a good way...

Maxed manifest; I'm quite prepared to stand outside the hack zone and let the timer run out if someone isn't helping on that objective... especially on London. Unless they are obviously and deliberately drawing aggro of course.

^^ agreed if we get devices 3x's and the 1st 2 times I do all 4 devices by myself..then on wave 10..I will stand right next to the device until someone else comes and does it...or if it is an escort & I am the only one doing it..I will stand right next to the circle until someone else joins....I have ZERO problems letting missions fail these dayz  <----maxed manifest problems

My question: what the f**k is going on in the head of a serial scorewhore!?

*edit: question 2: what is the best way to troll a serial scorewhore - i.e. how to make them quit their own hosted game?  This would be a lot of fun for me.

1. little to no grasp of what a TRUE scorewhore's claim to fame is based on. (ie: topscoring AND doing the objectives, as skipping the objectives just to score and/or nuking obj wave spawns or wave 11 is just...well it kinda negates the resulting scoreline for the 'alleged' scorewhore :P)

2. the best way? jump the spawns on the first 3 waves and profit from wave 4 host ragequit tears...however, it's a fine line, cause I HATE risking my consumables by making the host quit b/c they're not as 'special' as they thought they'd be scorewise with their "pre-set" map/enemy combo, etc :P

because, score is everything and life itself.

Somewhat related: I don't understand why so many score-centric folks rock a BOTB banner. The only challenge that reflects skill is solo mastery (maybe combat mastery). Actually, BOTB seems like a misnomer. It would be more fitting to call it MTOC, most tenacious of the cheese. Not that I never cheese, but advertising it by intentionally waving a blindingly bright glory banner in the prepubescent faces of clear nubiles is in poor taste. The banner doesn't even look cool. Blood Pack mastery is so much better.

ever since I've maxed my manifest, I often find myself on silver with underclass weapons, enjoying underrated powers. relaxing.
there I don't even check the score.

probably I am no classic score ****** then.

on the other hand:
especially after you've maxed your manifest (don't need credits) and play high difficulties in a very good (PUG) team where enemies die like flies and the extraction is guaranteed from the first second,

WHAT ELSE MIGHT THERE BE EXCEPT THE SCORE?
the fun in these games (for me) has subsided after hundreds of hours

What I said had nothing to do with what she sounds like. The joker smile reference  (Batman joker not ME joker) was a metaphor for a troll type attitude..

Of course Batman Joker. What is an ME Joker? You mean this guy?;
