There used to be 3 sub-forums under "Multiplayer" 

 

Combat and Strategy

Looking for a Group 

Weapons and Armour or whatever.

not just the mp forum, others have gone as well, maybe its just a server bug maybe they are pulling the space for something else like the upcoming me4 da4titles who knows ....

Hey, everyone!

 

In order to provide a better experience on our forums, we have decided to reduce the number of public boards. These changes will take place over the course of today (Monday, August 24th).

 

In part this is intended to bring some of the smaller but similar boards together. For instance, the customization boards such as Character Creator and Classes & Builds have been combined into Combat & Strategy, and the Multiplayer subboards have been merged into a single Multiplayer board. For most of these merges, we found that our users tend to post in the larger, more prominent forums already, and our changes reflect that.

 

You'll also notice that instead of individual News & Announcement and Feedback & Suggestion boards for each game, we now have these boards for each game franchise. This way, the latest news and feedback for each series will be easier to find.

 

We've renamed Scuttlebutt to General Discussion, and we'll no longer have separate sections for spoilers vs. non-spoilers. Instead, we will expect posters to be more diligent about hiding spoilers and labeling threads that contain spoilers.

 

Finally, we have removed the Off-Topic boards. We want to keep the conversations on our boards focused on BioWare and our games. Since other communities do exist for such off-topic discussions, we feel it's important to foster conversations within our community that can't be found outside these boards.

They also said that they were dropping last gen to give us a better experience in future patches and MP and I'm yet to see any of that.

Thanks for that info.  I understand the want to clean up things a bit.  I always thought the 3 split of the MP sub-forum was unneeded and messy.  However, some of the things that Conal said sort of give me the impression that he, and the others at BioWare, don't have a very good grasp of what their forum denizens are really (generally?) like.  Should be interesting to see if their clean up makes things messier than they were before.

Yeah, people be maaaaad at the off topic forum being gone.

 

But I can't blame them. Let Bioware reap what they sow with poor badly made decisions. All we get is hilarious posts.

Not a fan of the switch, but then again I'm old and change sucks. 

 

I suspect those links I saved to things like the resources page, armor appearances, and banners/portraits will soon be non-functional as well (they still work as of right now, but I suspect they'll go belly-up as soon as the global DNS servers catch up with them.)

I have no issue with consolidation because some of the other sub forms were seeing low traffic.  I do have a major issue with deep sixing off topic.  I liked that forum and though there was the inevitable garbage threads in there, there were also a lot of good and very funny threads.

 

As I said in the original notice thread of the changes BioWare puts out what a game every 2 years if you are very very lucky?  Off topic keeps a good number of people coming to the site every day, and hey maybe even seeing there are new expansions and such.

 

It's just another decision that makes fans feel like an inconvenience, much like the total absence of any kind of community manager that interacts with people on here and the faceless 1984'ish decision to have Biomods who seem to show up only if some person has message them with a beef.

 

I hope they rescind the decision to close off topic because if not I will not longer be interacting with a dozen or so smart and witty friends on that forum that I dealt with on almost a daily basis.

Uh, Combat Strategy has always been the only one to really get any attention. Players have even posted threads here about how it's weird we don't just have a general multiplayer forum instead.
