Wow, then either I've been rolling very unlucky with RNG, or I'm not fighting the right mobs. Not counting what I needed for my IQs, I don't think I have more than 2 of any specialization item, in 2 1/2 PTs.

Some are rarer than others. I have maybe 5 infusion primers, but 30+ broken philters.

I'm not sure if the drop rates are different or if some just drop from more common enemies. Wisp essence is on the rarer side (infusion primer and Venatori tomes seem to be the rarest).

If they are all weighted equally, then the game always trolls me because I do accumulate a bunch of the ones for specializations that are unavailable to my current class.  The chance must also be pretty damn low since I saved before the Venatori in the Hinterlands and repeated that fight a bunch of times and never got one tome.
