Where's Merrill?

Helping refugees, last I heard.  She gave up on the eluvians in my canon worldstate.  I don't know if she ever knew that she needed a passcode.

Briala actually has a passcode and has been making use of the eluvians for her elven spy network.  So could be relevant.

This may be a quadruple post, apologies in advance.

I hope something happens with Iron Bull having to choose and it being already decided based on main game choices. If I let the Chargers die and I'm not friends with Iron Bull at all, I expect him to join the invaders.

Unless the Qunari in this are like the Venatori - an evil secret cult / organisation that the rest of the Qun don't know about.

I'm digging this trailer, a lot. Especially Quizzy's rant.

It also seems like this DLC will be longer than usual. It has four plot points; the Qunari, the trial, the Eluvians and Solas. I hope they wrap this all up in a convincing way.

Might as well make it a full on expansion

Perhaps it actually is. We've only seen the trailer and the date, they might market it as an expansion. From the looks of it, it will have several new areas to begin with.

Because there's no way they cover that much material in a standard DLC. This will need to be Citadel-level big at the very least.

What I find funny about all this is people were upset that the 2 previous DLC had little to offer, yet the obvious truth was they were working hard on this epic one and listening to all our feedback to finally give us what we wanted.

Damn it... that was a good trailer.

Like an incredibly good one.

Easily rivalling Enemy of Thedas, and in my opinion better.

Resolving the Inqusiition? Solas? Quanari? Trial? Eluvians?

Count me in.

Seriously, that trailer is amazeballs.

So... they weren't working hard on the other ones, that's your point?

I'm wondering if the Inquisitor is going to get a forced death. I mean the Inquisition is a HUGE world state variable because of the player character.

That was in 9:41. Since then the Mage Templar war ended, the Breach has been closed, the Dales are potentially a self-governing viceroyalty and Varric new best seller: The Gest of the Inquisitor (subtitle: No ****, I swear, I didn't make up any of it).

Anyway, assuming she survived Dragon Age 2, Merrill would have many reasons to be involved... Which means she'll probably join all the other characters who have good reson to be involved but aren't because their voice actors weren't available to record the lines, because the devs didn't have time and resources to bring them back, or because the writers forgot about their existence.

Oh they were! But people wanted Solas continued in each DLC and got upset when it was pre/post-game content. As each DLC came out and people complained, they just smirked in the shadows.

That looks waay better than I was expecting after the leak (It seemed so vague and all over the place, you know, Qunari, hand, solas). Exciting to see it might be an epic revelation-ful DLC!

One thing I noticed. There are Qunari statues in the video around 1:20. Not sure but they look to be in Elven ruins. They could be petrified Qunari, but if they are statues and that is an Elven ruin.... there might be some really juicy revelations.

If this is our final DLC does this set up the inquisitor to now be a legendary roaming hero like our warden and hawke. Possibly being cured of the mark and inquisition possibly disbanding I can see that route being taken.

No, people wanted companions, stuff that was not just hack and slash and more then lore dumps. There was a big quality issue with the last two dlcs.

Maybe, maybe not.  Would be interesting.  Though I suspect that ship sailed with DA2's expansion.  But Briala was actually in DA:I, and could even be ruling Orlais.  With all the politics going on, compounded with her command of the eluvians, I'd be surprised if she didn't have some part to play.

I found the trailer to be too flashy and overdone, and the melodrama... ahh, the melodrama.

It has me both intrigued and half cringing at the same time.

If by quality issue you mean being two of the best DLC released in recent memory... sure!

I know some did, but many loved the lore too and enjoyed the other DLC, but wanted to have closure. This one however is giving us everything in one lump sum. For some reason I'm just not surprised.

This.

I'm really hoping that decision you make about which way Bull goes has major consequences in this DLC. Because think about it, if you sacrificed the Chargers and pushed Bull back towards the Qun then they may call him in and he really should go... and take with him all of the intel he has on the Inquisition, its members - their skills, abilities, strengths and weaknesses - and Skyhold itself. After all, he's a member of the Qun, your Inquisitor made sure of that, and his loyalty is not to the Inquisition but the Qun.

I hope they do it and that it makes any battles against them extraordinarily difficult. Perhaps even to the point of a companion/advisor being killed. And what I'd really like in this scenario is if the Qun targeted your love interest specifically, knowing it will affect you deeply.

It's possible I may like decisions to have appropriately salty outcomes.

I forgot about that Eluvian at....the Winter Palace (?) in the trailer.

I imagine Empress Celene put it there. Briala has been using them for her spies, but Celene putting it there fits with what happened in the Masked Empire. Or maybe they both put it there. Regardless, one of them (Or Gaspard even, because Celen/Briala/Gaspard/Chevin all went on a merry trip through dozens of Eluvians) could approach the Inquisitor and tell them about the Eluvian as a means to sort whats happening out/escape.

I liked the leaked trailer. I have no idea what elements it teases, but it looks meatier than the previous ones.

What? Jaws of Hakkon was pure AWESOME hands down and The Descent had some ingenious approach to level design, visuals, that bombastic soundtrack, not to mention some big story bombs it dropped. I, for one, have been very happy with the DLC we got so far. But I agree this one seems like the best of the lot. I love when Inquisition is actually about the Inquisitor. Would have loved to see more of that in the vanilla game, but this looks just perfect.
