Yeah and maybe if we ruled as tyrants our Inquisitor is a menace after 2 years, but if we ruled fairly, she's just a push-over.

Interesting , it could be different directions if you'll have two options by the end of trail , that will effect what will transpire after , it would be appreciated if that's the case , gives us a reason to play the dlc again.

As long as we don't have an evil demon disguised as a chancellor lying about your outcome and jailing you to be beheaded like poor Crono had!

On the other hand, this is Orlais: they should at least provide us with a frog-knight with a memorable personal anthem as a temporary companion.

getting to go to a city (didn't think it made sense for the main game, given the story, but I can see a DLC allow it)

You must have forgotten we went to one of the biggest cities in the DA world and all Bioware gave us what a small joke of a zone

Ok currently I am getting SimCity stream and DA-related chat on the side. Is Twitch as psyched about this as we are or is my computer hating me again?

Please...don't mistake Cities Skylines for SimCity....just don't  :P

I've seen a few posters that have brought up stuff I can understand... such as more Inner Circle style sidequests that allow some choices, getting to go to a city (didn't think it made sense for the main game, given the story, but I can see a DLC allow it), and a few other such wishes.  BUt a lot of the "criticisms" I have seen have been "empty!", contradictory "I want a fleshed out protagonist but a protagonist I flesh out!", not enough character interaction in the vanilla game (to which I just facepalm), and a continued attack against the main story being the weakest story around yet very few ever post reasons why.

It wears thin after awhile.

And has it started yet or is everyone else waiting for the PAX stream on twitch?

I still find it unfair when you say "few posters" when many threads have methodically and respectfully pinpointed what they believed were flaws that they wanted fixed for the future installments, things such as a working party banter, more cinematic discussions, less fetch quests and more meaningful sidequests, no pj clothes for Skyhold etc.

Anywho, lets leave it at that, shouldn't derail the thread.

What I expected from Orlais? Something like Novigrad. What I got? A place the same size as the Denerim market.

Just another area where DAI is outdone by Witcher 3.

Gaider indicated that it's difficult for them to do realistically crowded city spaces with a party, and I imagine a city of any notable size would have caused last gen consoles to **** themselves. Personally, I'd rather they not have a city unless it can be properly populated/made to feel somewhat alive, and hopefully it's something they can manage by the time MEA/DA4 are released.

Novigrad was true to the source materiel. Orlais was not.

Then don't introduce Orlais if you're not going to do it justice and just create a joke.

True story: my PS3 once caught the glimpse of my PS4 DA:I copy, screamed like a banshee and subsequently attempted to jump out of the window. Thank the gods this cross-gen nonsense is going extinct. It has been nothing but mess and unpleasantness for all parties involved.

the area the player sees in dragon age is just the summer bazzar, its serves as a vendor hub, the role of the inquisitor isnt going around a large massive city looking for side quests wich fits the witcher, the role of the inquisitor is to deal with the larger threat

They did a good job of this with Denerim in Origins though. No reason they can't replicate that formula on more advanced engines...

*sigh* Novigrad is supposed to act as a full zone for Witcher 3, that offers visual variety in an otherwise homogeneous landscape - without it there would only be a vast expanse of Velen and Skellige. Unlike DAI - with its deserts, lush forests, wintery slopes and Tevinter/Elven/Dwarven ruins peppered throughout, there's not THAT much variation both in terms of landscape and architecture in TW3, hence cities got a bit of special attention.

There's no "outdoing", because Val Royeaux was never supposed to be that. It's a small quest hub.
