I just recently re-discovered the fantastic M-6 Carnifex on the AA and HS, and the Tempest on the AJ, GE and TSent. They are much-much fun!
I slapped the Phaeston on my TSent on a Platinum PUG, I did surpsingly well. (If you go behind your teammates and start burst-firing it, everbody will turn around scared, because you sound just like a lolMarauder).

Carnifex AA is awesome. I got some guff for bringing her to a platinum game once but I ended up top scoring and convincing the lobby that the carnifex is good.

The low weight for one, and the application of warp ammo while Reaving everything in sight makes for a decent damage boost. I just feel there's good synergy between the weapon and the DA.

I do like ethereal synergy. I will try this one.

I've enjoyed putting pretty much every automatic and burst weapon on the Turian Soldier. Most of the shotguns can be quite fun as well. Even ran the predator on him once though I don't know if I can recommend that one.

Tempest is as accurate as hurriance on GI and has more bullets. Overall, IMO, it has just a bit less dps, like 20-30% less but more head shots.

Eviscerator is a very good gun IMO on any class. It has that feeling of a poor man's wraith but other than that, it is not bad.

Katana is a very good gun, there is nothing wrong with it. It is also quite accurate and medium range.

Phalanx is also good just too much hurt for trigger finger.

Hurricane deals twice the damage that Tempest does, even before taking armor damage mitigation into account.

Nothing wrong with Katana - except that it is one of the worst weapons in the game, no matter which way you look at it, simply because of its poor damage output. Shuriken is the only weapon that's clearly worse than Katana, with a few others you can actually start to argue about pros and cons. But there's no way in hell it's a "very good gun".

Evi and Phalanx are OK - for uncommons. Whether that makes them "good" or "very good" depends on how generous you want to appear.

Both the Viper and Eviscerator are very solid on GI, the GI/Viper build is actually one of my fav on Gold/Plat, definitely not OP but fun nonetheless.

Also, both the Tempest and Phalanx are quite solid on TSol.

The only uncommons I hate are the Vindicator and Scimitar, just painful to use on Gold+.

Phalanx is fun on HI. with heavy barrel, extended mag, and AP ammo. Use cryo blast to deal with shields and go for headshots.

Eviscerator is also fun on HI. HVB + smart choke and Incendiary or Disruptor ammo. Of course, any shotgun - even the Katana - is good on the AIU or GI.

Tempest is very effective on the HE, use the SMG recoil system and the HVB and take Disruptor ammo for frequent tech bursts.

Mattock is decent, and if you are on the PC and can setup auto-click script then it is almost as good as Harier

Stimulated by this thread, I took the Scimitar with HVB and Smart Choke, loaded it with Warp IV, and put it on the HMI. Landed in a game in progress on Vancouver vs Reapers. This gun is OP. Cloak - Cryo Blast - Shoot will one or two-clip a Brute as far as I can see.  The full auto rate of fire is slow, but it will repeat fire nearly as fast as you can pull the trigger. And it's practically weightless.

TSent with a Phalanx could take over the galaxy.  And I'm not joking - textbook headshots all day long.

The scimitar is a good candidate for a melee build that needs a shotgun omniblade without murdering the cooldown bonus.

Eviscerator isn't bad on class with overload like the Geth Engineer. I mean it's not a Wraith but it still does ok.

Scimitar should be used on the cryo soldier. High ROF, procs well but does ****** for damage, so a spammable power that can supplement the weapon damage makes it a bit more useable. You can also run disruptor rounds on the Human Sentinel and do pretty well.

Tempest is awesome on the Turian Soldier. Basically a watered down Hurricane. Locust is also pretty awesome on any Turian but I prefer the Soldier.

Phaeston or Mattock are both pretty good on any Turian. I'm sort of partial to the Sentinel there. Only the TGI can partially redeem the piece of **** known as the Vindicator though.

Viper generally I run on the Salarian Infiltrator. It's not bad. Incisor and Raptor kind of blow for me; I have run the Raptor on the Huntress on Plat and survived......barely. Incisor blows, I guess I could see it working on the Geth Engineer though.

Locust is OP: http://forum.bioware...5#entry19267847:D

Incisor works best on characters with accuracy and RoF boosts (like TSol, GI). If the whole burst hits, the damage is well decent.

lulz...wut? It's passable on Bronze...at best. Otherwise it's garbage. There's zero cause to use it other than to purposely gimp your character.

Or for CP. Or because the OP asked (kinda). Or because it's not actually that bad, and quite usable on Gold, on the AIU anyway,

Since I love headshots so much, I think I will try the N7 Valkyrie on my Salarian Engineer when I come home later.  That weapon is pretty uncommon, I hardly see anyone using it.

The katana is one of those weapons that I don't think is technically good but for some reason I enjoy it. I don't know if it's the sound or the feel but it's somehow satisfying to use. I bring it to a silver solo every now and then.

Reasons to use uncommon weapons ceased to exist once you unlocked and leveled up the rares and ultra rares.

It is pretty terrible but I do like to take it for a spin with the GI or AIU every once in a while. Sounds like a damn Tshirt cannon IMHO which makes me laugh.

I'm pretty sure I'm one of the only people who actually likes the Vindicator.  It's actually a pretty decent headshot gun if you set it up for 100% stability, and it's light, so you can spam powers quickly.  The drawback is that it is absolutely atrocious against armor, so you need to put it on a class with good armor damage powers.

Here's one example:  Human Engineer w/Vindicator.  You can do a similar setup on any class that has powers that can do good armor damage, e.g., Human/Phoenix/Asari/Drell/Batarian/Justicar Adepts, any class with Incinerate or Flamer, etc.

Now the disclaimer:  I'm not saying that this is actually good.  I'm just saying it's fun, and it's effective enough that it's not going to ruin your fun.

That's definitely the case with SRs, pistols, and especially shotguns.  The Rare tier of shotguns seems to be the single greatest weapon tier in this game.

But if, hypothetically, we're just talking Uncommon vs Rare...I think I like the Phaeston & Mattock over just about all the Rare ARs, and I know I prefer the Tempest over either Rare SMG.

Sad thing is I do like the feel of the weapon, it's kind of unique or at least was before the Argus. The damage has always been lackluster then apparently the Vindicator insulted Eric Fagnan because I think they nerfed it at least once. They nerfed the Vindicator! That's like kicking a puppy.

Raptor, too, given how similarly it and the Mattock play.  I'm on PS3, so I have to spam the trigger, but I think the Raptor is perfectly useful in Gold.  (And if a player of my limited ability can make it work, the rest of BSN should have no trouble!)

I slightly prefer the Mattock, I find it feels a bit snappier.

It was the very first of the many nonsensical balance changes: Vindicator got nerfed while Mattock got buffed (for the second time!) in the same update, despite Mattock already clearly being the better weapon of the two. I couldn't figure out the reasoning for this back then, and I still can't - it's as if they simply wanted Mattock to be the better weapon. Maybe it was because of all the people whining because Mattock wasn't as batshit OP as it was in ME2, but who knows.

I like using the  Eviscerator on the AIU  ..makes it much better...  and Phalanx on the Geth engee

Poor, poor Locust RIP   ..I am doing a new run in ME2..that gun is the only one I need...here, in ME3...am disappoint.....very badly

Tempest on the SmashDept work nicely...  Mantis on any Infil. with the sniper damage boost..is still effective on Gold

Katana makes an amazing baseball bat for a turian or batarian... Phaeston Destroyer is actually fun.

Same could be said about ME2 Shuriken. ME2 Shuriken was good since it had a 3 round burst fire or a rapid fire option. In ME3, it only has a 6 round burst fire.
