The shape of the armor and heads and legs look like Protheans, or at least whatever race of "Prothean" Javik was. (Remember he said many races comprised the Prothean empire.)
There's only one race of Protheans. The other races in the Prothean Empire were those who complied to the Prothean's act of uniting all sentient organics under their rule. (Those who resisted were eliminated.)
I hope we do not see any Protheans in Andromeda.

I respectfully disagree.
A closeup of their feet shows they are more hoof like.
No, these are more than likely the Remnant security teams tasked to guard their tech sites. They get activated when security sensors detect unauthorized intruders.
Well, my hypothesis could be true......
EDIT: Or they could be the Khet. These guys are supposed to be antagonistic against the humans.

And then we have this image from E3 in 2014. From this image a few fans (that I doubted) guessed Andromeda as the new destination. What of that Javik-like alien also in the image?

The legs are neither Quarian, nor Turian nor Prothean - if anything, they are Vorcha (they are waaaaaaayyyy too bent for Quarians/Turians/Protheans). Seriously, do I have eagle vision or something? Please, someone tell me that I'm not the only one that sees it.

Perhaps the legs were changes for convenience, like they keep doing to Khajiit and Argonians in the Elder Scrolls series.

That just looks like some guy with a bad haircut to me.

I think the enemies in the trailer might match the description of one of the new species mentioned in a supposed leak from a fan panel at Pax.
First concepts were of two new races. The first one being described as "Arrogant". They were really skinny, almost skeletal. Their bodies vaguely looked like a boney Turian. They had glowing eyes and a neck that frilled up from their chest (once they show it off you'll see how hard it is to describe. Their heads almost remind me of the aliens from Independence Day. The second new race was described as "Ancient, Advanced, and Guardian". They had a similar color scheme to reapers and they looked like classic fantasy/sci-fi golems. Sleek rocky or metallic bodies with bright glowing lines flowing all over them. Some had fragmented pieces and shattered bits floating in place around them.
The silhouettes of the aliens in the trailer did look almost Turian, but not quite.
The description of the first species from that rumored leak also might line up with the description of the Khet from the later leak that revealed the Andromeda setting.

Now this idea intrigues me. What if a subset of Quarians took off for the Andromeda galaxy as soon as their homeworld was taken over by the geth? We've already estimated that it would take us about 300 years at reaper speeds, why would it take them 500 - 600 years at FTL speeds?

There's only one race of Protheans. The other races in the Prothean Empire were those who complied to the Prothean's act of uniting all sentient organics under their rule. (Those who resisted were eliminated.)
They all took on the name 'Prothean' upon assimilation, however. Thus they are still all 'Prothean' albeit in name and culture only.
Other races mentioned by Javik are either those that came before the Protheans or those who did not assimilate with the Empire and met their demise by the empire, the Reapers, or their own creations.
-------------
In regards to the picture being used in this thread, I think the thing that should be circled and underlined are the words 'Conceptual Prototype', meaning they've recycled and/or altered assets for their prototype's usage. The bad glow and overall quality makes the suggested character hard to make out, but they look more akin to a Collector's (which is wider and larger) than a Javik-type Prothean. The pale aura about them also makes it seem like a holographic image, though that could just be the shoddy quality of the picture.
It's the standing pose that's strangest to me. It could be mid-movement, or it could be the default pose.. . .you can't get a clear view of the hand, though I think it has three/four fingers, and the wide stance and hips remind me of the Collectors as well, taken from a certain angle. (View of Collector Captain, also showing there is somehow diversity in Collector appearance.)
. . .so. . .I stand by the concept of 'reused and altered assets' rather than anything new.
(But how weird would it be if they took the Awakened Collectors from ME:MP and turned them into a race for Andromeda? It'd be interesting if it wasn't so strange. . .and improbable.

Hundreds of species have been harvested by the reapers, surely someone else had the idea of running away too, why not the mighty protheans on some secret facility that didn't run out of power like Ilos? Meeting some prothean there wouldn't be particularly odd, and humans seem to be their pets so they may consider joining forces with them.
Although running to one of the satellite galaxies of the Milky Way would be my choice instead of going the long way to a galaxy that was even farther with every previous cycle.

We would need a Prothean specialist, then. Who else than Liara could fill that role?

Asset re-use (and modification) wouldn't be anything new though - and it makes sense:
Chief Weyrloc Guld: Mass Effect 2

Krogan Warlord: Mass Effect 3 (Multiplayer)

As he says on the vid, ALL new characters.., I would be surprised if ANYBODY/ANYTHING from ME3 makes it to MEA other than the characters that leave Earth.

While I can agree of-handedly, many of the Satellite galaxies are though to have instability issues (Canis Major, the closest Satellite Galaxy to us, is thought to be in the process of tearing itself apart). This may have been thus deemed unsafe by pas races such as the Protheans if such a venture was made. Traveling to a galaxy more similar to the Milky Way would have been the safer choice even if they had to take more time to get there. Or, pehaps they passed through some of the minor galaxies to search for supplies on the journey to Andromeda?
Asset re-use (and modification) wouldn't be anything new though - and it makes sense:
Especially since its a conceptual prototype, they wouldn't put in a massive amount of effort into such.

It's more feasible that they would be Collectors, which yes are technically Protheans but the distinction is great, who could have been sent ahead 50,000 years ago to set up a galaxy crossing Relay for the Reapers. Or something.

Of course they would. We are squatting on their property

It was mentioned by some fans ("some speculated") here:

I only posted the video to show the origin of the screenshot was from the E3 trailer in 2014 though. Returning races could include Protheans that made it to Andromeda in the previous cycle. Just speculation!
Cheers
