Haxxer ruined my progress

Okay. One haxxer managed to break the game for me - I was playing Asari Justicar with Hornet + Power amp, Firebase White, U,G. We ended up getting Cerberus and I noticed only around wave 4 that something was up. My reave was very effectice. Way more than usual. Then I noticed that the host - (Screenshot function messed up, so no way to report him, couldnt remember the name) was killing lots of stuff very quickly with a katana.

Then I realized I wasn't taking any damage either. One Pug kept dying (however that works) so I didn't notice it earlier.

Worst of all - I stuck it out, didn't want to waste my equiment and thought about just cashing in those 60k creds, leaving the game and reporting the sucker.

BUT --> instead of 60k creds, I ended up with about 115 Mill creds. Which I hate, since it ruins all my hard-earned progress so far, robbing me of my sense of accomplishment.

At this point, I consider my account and my progress compromised and am looking for options.

My own ideas:

1. Report the sucker. http://social.biowar..._FR&platform=pc

2. Spend all these credits on veteran/equipment packs, so my chances of making progress on my manifest are close to 0%.

I really would like to hear opinions on how to get rid of those haxxored credits.

EDIT: Bryan Johnson fixed it. True hero.

Sorry that sucks, it's been discussed here several times before. Reporting won't help (no support for the game for a couple of years now).

Wherever things can be ruined for others, there will always be some bottom feeding scum around to do so. Luckily it's not so many that do so, but now and then you might have the misfortune to run into them.

If you feel that strongly about it you can hack your credits back to 0, or 60k if you feel you deserve that. The only way to beat a hack is to hack.

I really would like to hear opinions on how to get rid of those haxxored credits.

It would take you years of clicking to spend that many credits 20-30k at a time, and it might earn you a repetitive-strain injury, you know, as a cherry on top. Maybe if you can make a mouse macro to do the work for you. But yeah, there's 0 chance of getting gold and black cards in VPs and JEPs, so it wouldn't really spoil your effort towards a maxed manifest. It would, however, supply you with a lot more consumables than you'd normally have at this point. You'd pretty much never have to worry about not wasting your equipment in a bad match again.

Another thing to consider is haxxing your credits back to some normal amount. There's this 'cheat engine' program that lets you modify numeric values (such as credits or amount of consumables) directly. Might not be trivial to use, but as far as I know it's not dirty/unsafe. It's a two-wrongs-make-a-right kind of deal, but like you said, your account is sorta compromised already, so...

Deerber is right in the sense that nobody cares anymore to notice, report or judge the use of cheats/mods/whatever, Bioware included.

1- As other said, reporting this cheater will not help, since the support for this game is over.

2- It's pretty simple : don't use this money, but only the new credits you"ll get when playing normally.

3- (bonus advice) Ascend to consoles master race !

If it eases your frustration any, it's perhaps worth remembering that because of the nature of the Store, your progress towards a maxed manifest is so arbitrary as to render your 'sense of accomplishment' little more than imaginary.  The spread between the shortest and longest times taken to max manifests legitimately is well over 1000 hours. I know this from personal experience at the longer end, first time round.

As others have said, support ended a long time ago, so running into hackers on PC is something of an occupational hazard at this stage, and there's no pressure on you to spend the credits or any obligation to actually use the UR weapons you'll get if you do.  Just enjoy the game for what it is. Or join us console scrubs!

I agree with you except for the last point. It is also possible to do these hacks on PS3. There is a guy in the Platinum Solo Hall of Fame (don't get me wrong, the solo he did was 100% legit as he's a good player) who has been doing all this stuff on PS3 for science: Invincibility, Money hack, Husk mode, One Hit Kills etc. but maybe he got his PS3 bricked by now...

Nope, it wasn't an Asari, it was a Krogan Sentinel.

I might have to actually edit my game, since I liked the math involved in getting enough equipment to be able to sort of play Gold and very rarely Platinum (if I found someone willing to carry me) and unlocking new stuff. I had plenty of fun even with un-maxed UltraRares like my Saber I. I never honestly intended to fully max my Manifest anyway, since I have a job anyways :P  Yet I liked occasionally unlocking a new character to experiment with. For some reason, RNGeesus had already decided to max my UltraRare Characters before anything else.

At the same time, the big number (115 Mill) simply irritates me, since that big of a number is usually reserved for CookieClicker type games.

I am afraid it's not that easy.

I can understand the thread opener.

but it's very easy to hack the credits back to 0.

there are tons of tutorials that can be found on Google

The infamous iiiiiii-Rex (not sure about the exact number of i lol) ! 1769 Collectors masteries in 500 hours (get on his level TNS ! ) ! I also think that his solos are legit, as their times aren't special and a friend of mine, who played with him a normal game, told me that he was good.

So yeah, the PS3 is haxable. But the haxxors are pretty rare on this platform.

Hmm....how many hours are you into the game so far OP? I understand your sense of accomplishment of maxing the right way BUT IDK that you'll feel that way after the RNG grinds on you for a while. You're talking probably around 800 hours to max your manifest. I mean do you want to do that just to get the weapons that everyone has by now?

I hate cheating to get an unfair advantage but at this point if BW doesn't care to enforce anything anymore you would just be leveling the playing field. This comes from someone that had a thousand hours before maxing their manifest.

Even after support was dropped wrt to cheaters, I think players could still request Bioware to reset their credits after a match like that.  If it's that important to you -- and you want go the white hat route -- then try PMing a few of the devs.  Bryan Johnson aka Brojo still plays multiplayer.  Try him.

Assuming PMing even works any more.  I think they changed that feature.

Hm... since I haven't played a single round since then, it shouldn't be too hard to reset my progress. Thanks for the suggestion, even if it is a long shot.

And yes, I wanted to unlock stuff the hard way. That way, buying a couple of packs and getting a new character or an upgrade to a weapon was a reason to keep playing. I don't want everything from the get go.

@NuclearTech76: 213+ hours and 750+ matches so far. A quick calculation shows that I would have to play 1750+ matches of Gold to get the same amount of credits.

I have 53 million credits and I just now finished my manifest. Pretty much never used the store unless I was waiting for players.
