So I joined Pringtella's game earlier today and had no interface. No problem, I thought. I don't need it. It is only Perilous after all, right? I am using a controller here, which further handicaps me, but still manage to carry despite the rest of the party dying.

Everything still works, I just don't have the HUD at all. Really, who needs a hud?

Here's the new (old?) hardcore mode: No interface!

The controller is actually a bonus since if you get the bug with a KB/M you can't even move the camera, so yeah.

I've played that way before. There's actually multiple bugged states. This one is just pure no UI. There's others where you can't control anything, and another where you have UI but cannot move or turn normally but can use abilities-- so fade step and charging bull can move you where you need to go.

I host most of the time now a days so I don't encounter this bug much.

I have played several of these game mainly with Izzy where I really don't need to auto attack.

Some classes are badly screwed by this bug, though - if you are using a mage with select-an-area skills like Barrier, you will be stuck permanently

The controller auto selects targets depending on who you target and what ability you have, and defaults to self if you face downward avoiding all targets. As for KB&M, I am in borderless window mode so I know where my cursor is.

Virtuoso doesn't need to target, and is my primary mage grind right now. Power Chord all day...

Unless you want to grind faster, then using Cool Beats might be a bit more challenging with no HUD.

Yup, I went there.

On a slightly more relevant topic, DAI is one of the few PC games I own that I cannot stomach the KB/M controls. They are just plain poorly designed, which is why I've been using the controller since the second time I played multiplayer.

LOL no wonder you played inaccurately every time. I was wondering why you simply couldn't do certain things, especially react and adapt to certain things quickly. Now it makes total sense.

Heck, Templar on KB&M alone is a lot more powerful because shield wall has a different animation set and responds differently. Nevermind the whole accurate targetting, dodging and movement.

Nope. Controller has nothing to do with it. This isn't a shooter or RTS. The entirety of any apparent lacking skill in any player is entirely between the chair and the keyboard/controller (or in the case of consoles, chair/couch and the controller).

Truthfully, I'm not that skilled... I don't have the skill to grind up to 80% damage reduction and get BiS gear, yet somehow still manage to die on zone 1 with the most powerful class you can use. It's honestly a bigger feat than a sub-15 minute Heartbreaker speed run that aren't "challenging" enough for you. Fair play!

I will acknowledge that some abilities are better suited for use on KB&M, such as Shield Wall, some AoE spells, Long Shot and a few other long range attacks.

However, your claim that your stomp through a HUD-less game on Perilous with what appears to be a finished Templar build is made more impressive because you were "handicapped" by using a controller is just plain asinine.

You then post in a thread about Heartbreaker speedruns, saying that it's not impressive to do it with controllers because they were using characters at melee range and they had promotions.  Anyone else see the irony?  Just me?

You then come back into this thread and go on about how superior KB&M is again.

Just pick a stance and stick with it, OK?

LOL the whole run was asinine, that's the point. Lighten up and have some fun. I fumbled with potions quite a bit with the controller, and I see why medallian says "i don't use potions" (because they're awkward as #(*&# to use on controller)-- instead of being instantly accessed there's frickin delays and it doesn't always animation cancel like it should.

Controllers favor melee range (shield wall / attack cancels being excepted), there's no denying that . I did say your XB1 pug run was way more impressive than the private run by Vegan and friends.

KB&M is superior overall in accuracy, response and control due to how the game is built and mechanics work. It causes more strain on the limbs taking advantage of that though.

Also... no autorun means no auto-run trolling at the end win flag. I miss that the most. Surely you've seen videos of the survivors missing, yet the camera rotates to show them running in all directions as the narrator speaks of team victory.

Personally I feel Bioware designed the game with a controller and gave the kb mouse adaptation to some intern that they hired the same day. While kb mouse lets you do things like target really far ennemies or the dragon in the air but playing melee especially reaver will kill your fingers.
