To whom it may concern,

Let me be very clear. I love Dragon Age Inquisition. Mechanics, story, graphics, just everything.

However, like all great things... after the initial shock and awe of it's greatness wanes and the third play-through begins, flaws do emerge. BUT wait, this is where instruments of amazing feats are constructed and put forth to echo into history. To accomplish this there are a few things I would like to suggest:

  • Population,
  • RTS-elements,
  • Large-Scale Army battles. (The likes of DA:O starting cut-scene or the massacre at Haven)
  • Epilogue timeline telling the outcome of major decisions throughout the game

First, it is set up for success, rather more success than already achieved. This game is set up for greatness... you ARE the inquisitor. You command the greatest force (in due time of course) that the land has seen in a long long time. You COMMAND Grey wardens, mages, and multiple races. IT. SHOULD. FEEL. THAT. WAY.

By the last act, the soldiers were scarce and scattered. This made the ending feel.... Small scale. Like the end was a major side quest. The castles/outposts the inquisitor conquered felt unneeded with no great importance. From Alpha build footage, these were supposed to be spectacles of your reign in the area. Except in the release build... the polish wore away the glimmer of that gem. Even after completing literally every sidequest in every area... freeing the people of the horrors of war and hunger, I felt alone. If I took a castle and prepared safe passage to an area... foot soldiers, patrols, and foot traffic should almost quadruple.... except it didn't.

Second, to rehash... you COMMAND thousands. Current gen is in full swing and an expansion pushing the limits needs to be made. 1000 figures on screen should not be unthinkable.

With that said, let's have some resemblance or nod towards RTS elements by allowing major decision trees in deployment of troops in large-scale battles. Allow us to recruit Master smiths to harden the armor of our troops... thusly making a key plot point possible to overcome in battle (which would be optional, but makes winning the battle easier, whereas without them your inquisitor is forced to fight harder himself, or herself.)

A Special nod to ME3, there should be a war gauge. The more forces you gain adds to your army strength, whereas a major decision that shuns a race decreases army gauge. Finding a Master smith adds to it, finding technology in the deep road adds to it, and losing a castle decreases it.

I understand this is A LOT to ask for especially since it is so far post-release. However, if you DO do this... you're pushing the envelope towards evolving an interactive living war within your already well spoken for world.

Lastly, the easiest of the three, but adding a perhaps a epilogue timeline going through the outcomes of major decisions you made throughout the game. This is not something new, but adds to the feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction knowing what you did in the game... EVERYTHING made a difference somewhere, somehow.
