LOL. For me it simply looks like a MS Paint squiggle meant to cover up something, until they've decided it's too much of work and looks kinda meh, so they just covered suspicious objects and some red herrings with black squares

They also blacked out the side of the column that image is on that's facing the camera and I'm like ninety percent sure its just a blank wall there in the other pic.

Yeah, exactly... it's been in development long enough that they should be able to talk about it now with some confidence, but instead ME Andromeda is gonna suck up all the attention for the next year.

 

At one point I was still half-convinced that this is a secret KOTOR sequel, but now I'm not sure. Casey Hudson also left the company, and it feels like this was his baby all along, so I have no idea if the game that's gonna come out will end up matching whatever vision he had for it in the beginning.

Didn't one of the E3 presentations indicate that they were "taking on contemporary stories"? I always interpreted that as an IP set in our (contemporary) world.

I do remember that "contemporary stories" bit, though that could just mean the setting is close enough to our world to make contemporary stories, which could play into the urban fantasy idea.

Yeah. I mean, Final Fantasy 15 could count as contemporary and yet it still has summon monsters, magic, gravity defying acrobatics/teleportation, and vaguely gravity defying hair. Contemporary, when I've seen people use it, typically just means people have smartphones and generally dress in modern, western-style clothing. Its a level of tech really. It doesn't rule out other, more fantastical elements being involved.
