Something that I did find interesting was that in the Star Wars section of the presentation, the BioWare Austin guy basically confirmed (?) that they're working on a new Star Wars game that isn't The Old Republic.

Edit: it was James Ohlen, and he said "beyond The Old Republic, there are still so many [Star Wars] stories that we want to tell"

Lol, folks, neither E3 or EA Play is done yet....

 

As far as I can see, though, there aren't any more press conferences from EA and/or BioWare coming up. They don't have any other events scheduled, just hands-on play for people who are physically present.

Aaryn Flynn will be interviewed tomorrow, I believe, at 3pm Eastern. I doubt he will be talking about anything other than Andromeda, though. But who knows.

I suppose the upside is that after all the disappointed reactions, they'll probably try to make next year's event (or other events later this year) much more interesting. The bad PR surrounding the conference can't be easy to watch for EA's leadership team. 

 

(I mean, the majority of opinions I've seen about it weren't even bad, just "meh" - and indifference has gotta hurt.)

Yeah. Remember back to Inquisition's E3's? Those were IMPRESSIVE. Like that time when they brought out the cello? THAT WAS THE STUFF. The big issue is that the trailer was pretty similar in terms of "shock" and "tone" as all the others. It wasn't very surprising.

Yeah, the entire show was underwhelming, and EA even had Jamie Foxx there, for crying out loud. They focused way too much on the competitive gaming side of the company and not enough on single player entertainment. Bethesda's was much more exciting.

Wasn't it the same after last year's conference? 

 

I'm starting to think that EA isn't really doing much for E3, because they will always be outshined by others. Not even necessarily in terms of content - they're usually first to have those conferences and they have to push through their sport games as well, so after others pile up on top of them it's easy to miss the details on more interesting games in barrage of information. So perhaps - after all the bombshells prepared for E3 from other companies, which after last E3 are probably trying their best to one-up another - they're preparing something bit more special to dump on people after the E3 hype has passed.
