what the title says, has anyone here a problem with the minimap, i played for 5 hours ,2 weeks ago and still today the image retention from the minimap can be viewed (it is not a burn in) , the point is that it is fading real slow. has anyone here a problem with the minimap too?
it is not the tv's fault as in all other games i cannot get image retention.
bad syntax , i know but i am lazy now

Nope. I have sidebar burn-in from too many 4:3 shows and games but nothing from playing DragonAge -- and I played it pretty much straight through.

I have both types of burn. It's the danger of having a 3 year old plasma TV. After watching hours of British Comedy and other classic 4:3 ratio gems, when a white screen comes up (intro screen to DA:O), I can see Sidebar Burn, Character Ring & Map Ring burn from DA:O (as it is the only game I've been playing for 3months). I'm surprised to see there is not a few other burns, but hey. I can still watch everything on it, and the burns not that bad unless the screen in majorly white.

If you bought your TV 3 weeks ago most new Plasmas have a "game mode". This mode shifts the pixels slightly so that burn in is prevented. Not sure if that would help with sidebar burn-in but it should definitely help for gaming. What sucks is that companies tend to use their own buzz words for this mode so you'll probably have to dig through the manual to figure out what "game mode" is.

I've played many many hours with no problems but I play in game mode and use the anti retention every hour or so to prevent burn in .

Yeah I use pixel shift, game mode and scrolling bar to avoid burn in on my Samsung 50" plasma.

There are a few games where I notice burn in can persist more than others. Borderlands is also a pain for it due to the bright white weapon hud etc...

I wish ALL games would allow you to change the opacity of the HUD in order to help combat this but alas no...

ioannisdenton : if you read your TV manuel, it states not to use your plasma tv for more than 60 minutes straight for the first 15 hours, to prevent burn-in.

the real problem though, is why the hell you bought a plasma TV to game on ??
