I couldn't help but notice this as a born and raised Edmontonian playing Mass Effect 3 for the first time through.
On Palavia(sp?) while fighting the Reapers to save that Turian diplomat I noticed that the Reapers set off a loud foghorn sound in the distance right before unleashing a wave of newly air dropped enemies.
Anyone who grew up in Edmonton is classically conditioned to associate that exact foghorn sound to mean one thing and one thing only: that at the World Waterpark you'd better run into the wave pool because they're about to unleash a set of waves and if you don't hurry you'll miss it.
Did the designers do this on purpose? Was it a deliberate Easter Egg, a coincidence inspired by childhood Waterpark memories, or completely unrelated?
Thanks!
