I may be the minority, but I am totally disappointed inthe the DLC "The Descent".   It stared out okay, but soon it became apparent that this was a "fluff" DLC.  Unlike the Jaws of Hakkon, The Descent lacks a storyline.... well the storyline falls flat and is inconclusive, there is no sense of accomplishment.  I am no game programmer, but it seems that The Descent was thrown out there as a "money grab".  I enjoy the DAI game, I would hope that future expansions/DLCs provide the quality that is DAI.

I enjoyed the story. I enjoyed the high rate of cinematics. I enjoyed playing a dungeon for a change. I found the environments breathtaking.

I enjoyed...

Spoiler

Yeah, I enjoyed it a lot.

wut....

Well, if you say so. I don't agree with your assessment, it had a good story and answered a lot of questions I started pondering as far back as Origins. The Descent gave me more answers than questions.

Like I said, I might be in the minority.Like the man said ... it is my opinion.   I would have liked to seen the Titan angle expanded upon. What happened with Valta and the whole sealing of the lower level.  It felt incomplete.  I hope the next DLC has more to it.  Cheers!

I've noticed a pattern in these DLC's. JOH was elf-related with a touch of Tevinter, Descent was dwarf-related and now Qunari are rumored to be next. I suspect all the info gathered in each DLC is leading up to a big reveal in DA4 or possibly the plot for it, since Legacy is the prologue (as well as most of DA2) to DAI.

I enjoyed the presentation of the story for the Descent, but I do think they should've dove into the lore a little deeper... I felt almost as confused at the end of the DLC as I did at the beginning. I think that's just how the entertainment industry goes nowadays though honestly. It's almost as if they're afraid to make closure, so they can still expand the story with as much flexibility as possible.

I wouldn't say that the DLC was "not up to standards" though because I did enjoy playing through it. I liked the presentation of the Descent a lot more than I did with Jaws of Hakkon. Not necessarily that the storyline was better, but I think it was a lot more driven. I liked how they used cutscenes for dialog as opposed to the free floating camera while everyone is standing still. I also thought the music was top notch for the Descent. It's not without its issues, of course.

I do hope that for the next DLC they will follow a similar format(as far as cutscenes vs free floating camera dialog and a good soundtrack) and add some more involved companion interactions...
