Bioware, can we have the option to walk on the hull of our ship? We could walk on the sides, top, and bottom of our ship, while some nice ambient music is playing, and take in the sights of whatever sector of space we are in.

Whenever I walk outside, my ships pilot could say something like, "enjoy the view, boss." While the airlock hisses open. Or an A.I. could say, "Captain exiting airlock. Locking ship engines in stand-by mode."

For a story that takes place in the future, we have not got to freely space walk. If I could, I would find the best looking nebula, park the ship, and take a few photos for my desktop.

As long as they play "Walking on Sunshine" during the sequence.

I am all for one or some missions in space (zero-G or not) and I loved segment of the earlier games where it happened (geth dreadnought airlock) but leisurely space walking on the hull of our ship for the vistas? I am not convinced. Kinda takes the special element out of the idea if you ask me. Granted, it's not a stretch to say that EVAs are not much of a problem in the ME universe but I'd still think people would need a reason to have only a suit between them and the vacuum of space.

Kinda also makes space walks a bit more dramatic once they do happen in a mission, IMO.

So long as there's a compelling reason to actually do this, why not?

We could shoot asteroids. Similar to that 80s computer game, or, well I do not know. I am sure BioWare could think of something. I just thought it would be a nice side feature. A lot of times I ran around the ship in Mass Effect 2 for no reason... might as well do it on the outside of the ship. I think my love of space and astronomy prompted this post.

We spend all this time in space, why not take a moment to enjoy it? No timers, no mission; just you and a great view.

Seems very appropriate for a game with a focus on exploration.

I'd be worried that someone would lock the airlock and forget that I was outside walking.

It would be nice while listening to Ozzy

I like this idea.
I've been wanting a zero-G nookie scene.
Similar to the flick Gravity when Sandra Bullock was stripping out of her suit in the airlock. (Not sure why but I always found that scene sexy.)

Wouldn't mind some missions where you had to move, or fight in Zero G.

Armor does have a jet pack. Might as well use it. While feeling like Boba Fett.

That would be cool. The last two games traded space for nice looking marbles, so having multiple systems to bask in would be amazing. Back when Alien Isolation first came out, I encountered a glitch that left half the map invisible... I could see all the stars & the planet below. It was amazing. I was like, why isn't there more of this? Be cool to have things like that in there.

The turret sequences of Shadows, KotOR, & Sith Lords were about as charming as they were annoying. Might be nice revisiting that though.
KotOR 2 had some nice outside the ship sequences. Very atmospheric.

You know, as long as it wasn't complicated or tedious, it might be fun to have a section where we're on the outside of our ship either repairing a damaged section of the ship or helping the engineering teams instal certain upgrades we've acquired?

Or if that's too dull, maybe just handwave it that we've got remote VI drones like Glyph who do the external work, but we have to go outside because we took some damage due to some shenanigans, leading to their bomb-day doors being fused shut or their remote transmitters knocked out or something?

I dunno though, I kinda like the idea of actually seeing a spacedock in these games where ships are being upgraded and worked on, because it was kinda immersion breaking in ME2 that we could install new cannons, hull armour, shielding and engines and do it either in-transit or whenever Shepard stopped at the Citadel to do another commercial.

Only if it ends with the captain being incinerated to death by solar rays.

Space walk is a nice idea. I always wanted to walk on the hull of the Normandy for repairwork or something like that. Maybe in ME:A it is part of the story, for example one of the new species infiltrates our ship and we have to find a new way back inside. Or some crewmember is angry with me/betrays me and will throw me out the airlock :D.

During non-missions, we could see stars and nebulas, based on wherever we parked the ship; during missions, we could take cover and shoot enemies as we tried to make our way to another airlock; during timed missions, we need to make our way to a certain area before the engines roar to life and we roast in hyperspace.

Of course, I would like the non-mission alone time. Ambient emotional music with stellar views.

Does that mean we get to wear huge gold suits as well?

Okay, but only if its sequel has us returning as a Pinbacker-esque villain.

Sure, but it'll be a clone of Kai Leng.

What? No... No, no, no. No.

Or...are you implying that they're similar? I don't see it. Kai Leng reminds me more of a teenage boy running around with a plastic katana and playing ninja than a religious fanatic. Or are you implying that they're both cringey and out of place?

Er, anyway, on topic...

Sure, why not? I want to step out into space and experience that sudden silence, to be intimidated by the utter vastness of it, to be surrounded by billions of stars.... I really liked the observation deck in the SR2.
