How about a supremely gorgeous, sexually-active crew member who wants absolutely nothing to do with the PC?
That would just hurt.

Aria and Nyreen were your companions in Omega DLC. But could you kiss Aria? I have never done that I just remember reading it somewhere.
You do not kiss Aria. Aria kisses you. Big difference.
Say a happily married couple, a grotesque, a celibate monk, or a eunuch? The character idea gets shredded?
I've actually been really hoping that the bolded happens to be honest, really dig the idea of a married squad mate who has a spouse that's either another squadie or an NPC on the ship.

So she would belong to quasi-romanceable squad in daveliam's list. It's interesting to see that when all those companions are grouped into romanceable, quasi-romanceable and non-romanceable groups then there are quite many companions with whom PC can have some romantic moments.

I could totally go for companions like these.

Witcher 3 almost did this, albeit with a non-companion. It felt pretty great actually. It's the elf outside of novigrad you save from abuse and she's like "What? You expecting me to just spread me legs for you just because you helped me? Get lost!"
Which is nice because I totally thought I was gonna get down, but it felt unexpected and subversive, given CDPR's previous game especially.
It would also be cool to be able to renegade flirt someone like Dreamgazer mentioned, and then kiss them, only to be completely and bluntly rejected afterwards, like in the middle of trying to kiss them. Maybe a slap on the cheek or a punch in the stomach. That would teach PC from thinking he decides everything about his friends and squadmates.
there were a thounsand times more topics about romances than their involvement in the story or their gameplay-wise aspect (class, specializazion, unique abilites etc.)
Lets be real, talking about romance and da sex is way simpler (and far more entertaining) than talking about what kind of skills someone will have, or anything else that involves complex speculation. Don't blame people for being human lol.
There are many non romancable characters that are quite loved. Why there should not be others? is not like all companions are LI too.
Kasumi, Wrex, Grunt, Mordin, Varric, Samara, Aveline... all non romancable (for some, sadly) but are quite liked by many players.
If you mean protagonist... well, I think it would go quite against the creation of our own protagonist, and any kind of roleplay. If they give us that kind of character, I would pretend the chance to roleplay someone who rebel to that kind of life.
Yeah I think I would too I think part of the charm of playing through these stories is being able to romance one of your team. I'm not entirely bothered as to which are available and which ones aren't though as there will always be a Varric like character that's a good character that's just not interested. You don't always have to romance people and I admit I've only had 1 of my Hawkes romance someone and that was Merril in that particular run all the others have gone through the story without romancing anyone. Personally I find the romances can be interesting also quite funny in places too especially Garrus's and Iron Bull's. So tbh I find they add to the charm of the game personally and allows your character to show that he/she has a softer side as well .

No it doesn't...Aveline anyone or Varric? - Both are from Dragon Age and both can't be romanced (you can help her romance someone else though and Varric is in a relationship (though you don't know that at first))

ps: It's ok that such characters exist IMHO, but I prefer characters that I can romance and who are player-sexual (some would call it bisexual, but I disagree, unless the character has been in relationships (or has had sex) with both genders before!)...I hated being unable to romance Dorian in DA:I for example (I am a straight male and I don't do gay, not even in games...no, I don't hate gays (hell, I have had gay friends in the past -.-), I am just straight myself)

I'd call it lonely desperation rather than being human.

Wha...? I'm not even going to address your need to mention that you're totally not a homophobe or anything hey guys I've had gay friends before! but why did you hate not being able to romance Dorian if you're a straight male and "don't do gay not even in games"? Am I completely misunderstanding you?
The reason others dislike what you call "player-sexual" characters is because they feel forced and unbelievable. Characters should be written as people, that is to say individuals with unique backstories, personalities and sexual orientations that are not influenced by whether or not someone might want to romance them. To make them all bi, or whatever you want to call it, is just bad writing.
I mean, I'd love to romance Cassandra (as a female), and I'm kind of bitter I can't, but I'm not upset at Bioware for making her straight. She's straight. That's a part of who she is as a character, just like Solas only being into elves or Cullen not being attracted to quanari or dwarves. I'd 100% prefer believable, well-written, distinctive characters than being able to bonk whoever I wanted.
And because it needs to be said, a bisexual person isn't not bisexual simply because they haven't had sex or been in a relationship with both men and women, similar to how a straight person isn't not straight if they haven't had sex or been in relationship with the opposite gender yet.
Not every character in the ME1-3 was romanceable either..
Yeah I don't know what the OP is on about. No romance possible with Wrex, Grunt, Joker (SOB SOB SOB), EDI, James, Samara, Kasumi, Zaeed, Javek, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some.
In Dragon Age there are countless options, too.

Putting aside the bizarre homophobic post to which this was responding... lol
I don't think the four romances in DA2 were forced or unbelievable. I think they were great, and they gave players more options. Hawke x Fenris hit me in the feels the most, and Fenris is my favorite character in the whole franchise. I don't think his writing suffered because a player could romance him regardless of gender.
And I have no problem with someone headcanoning that Fenris is straight, gay, or bi. The writers could have had him clearly state at some point that he is attracted to both men and women, and I don't think that would have really added anything to his character. It would have made bisexual players happy, I'm sure, to see some representation, and that's a nice thing. But it wouldn't add or subtract to his character.
Cullen only being available to female elves and female humans does not make him more believable or well-written. Cullen wasn't available to anyone in the previous two games, so is he not more believable? And if Cullen were available to female dwarves and qunari as well, that would make him less believable? What if Cullen were available to both genders; would he be less believable?
If I used a mod that makes Cullen receptive to my male inquisitor's flirtations (which I haven't yet), the game becomes no less real or fun. Cullen is still Cullen. He is still an ex-templar who tends to brood and worries he's not fit for the job. He's still a bit shy around someone he likes. He's still a very passionate man once he lets his hair down (so to speak). He's still the same character. I can just romance him with my male character now.

I'd like to see an awkward married couple of paired species we have never seen paired before, such as:
Krogan/Turian
Krogan/Salarian
Krogan/Human
Krogan/Quarian
Salarian/Quarian
...etc.
Well there was Dr. Chakwas who didn't want anything to do with Shepard romantically. Just as a drinking partner.
Samara, Kasumi

I wouldn't even classify her as quasi-romanceable. She just grabs you, gives you a reward kiss, and then there's an awkward silence. It's even pretty clear she doesn't enjoy it if you're a MaleShep(incidentally this is one of the few indications that asari aren't all omnisexual and can have gender preferences).
I'd rank Samara as quasi-romanceable, but Aria doesn't even qualify as that.

Tough girl / sweet guy (like Zoe and Wash) always make cool NPC couples. A same sex couple would be cool, too.
As for DA2's romances, I personally did not have a big problem with them. There were only four, after all--though I fully admit I romanced Isabela in all 4-5 of my play throughs and will do so again for every one in the future.
I probably romanced Fenris like 10 times, but Isabela definitely comes in second
I've got two full playthroughs with her ![]()

Yes, I want to see a same sex couple. Preferably m/m because we have seen f/f with the asari/asari and asari/human.

I wouldn't mind Space Wade and Space Herren.
