I'm too lazy to setup a group for this.

One of the problems you encounter when dealing with wave 5 is the Demon Commanders as they're immune to most CC. However, they're vulnerable to Slowed, which could be an effective way to deal with them.

The premise is that Snared* (50%), Chilled (25%) and Slow Dancing (20%) stack, netting 95% total speed reduction to all enemies affected. Snared* can be inflicted via Tread Lightly (Caltrops' upgrade). Chilled can be inflicted from multiple sources. Slow Dancing can be inflicted via Battle of the Bands' upgrade.

Possible team composition

  • Keeper:    Barrier, Fade cloak, Disruption Field, Static Cage
  • AW:          Fade step (Chilled), PotA, Fade Cloak, Dispel
  • Archer:     Caltrops (Snared), Explosive shot, Leaping Shot, Mark of Death + Tricks of the Trade
  • Virtuoso:   Battle of the Bands (Slow Dancing), Cool Beats stacking + Tricks of the Trade

1) Spam Static Cage, Disruption Field, PotA to keep all enemies together and trap Demon Commanders

2) AW should spam Chilled (9.6s duration), Archer should spam Snared (36s duration), Virtuoso should spam Slow Dancing (9.6s duration)

3) Kill everything

Bonus from Drasca: Use Pitch Grenade!

No it's not lol. It's untested and most likely doesn't work. The fact that I think about those things is a symptom of boredom

They say that necessity is the mother of invention, while desperation is often credited as the father.  I see boredom as the smelly old uncle who thinks it's funny to have the nephews and nieces pull his finger.

I've been enjoying heart breaker and I'm not over promoted... It's like running a dungeon on a standard MMORPG (FFXIV/Warcraft) and can easily done with the same 4 man team of 1 tank (lego) 2 DPS (what evs) and a heals/barrier/dispeller.

Rotate your cooldowns right and it's exactly the same...  It's not even end  game raid level difficulty, it's standard difficulty if played the right way.

I wish the entire game was like this from the start, with mini bosses at the end of each zone that all dropped loot.

I didn't define overpromoted in OP. If any of your teammates have over 200 total promotions then that's overpromoted in my book

They should put a DC at the end of every zone!

Pitch Grenade.

why is there such a incessant negative attitude on promotions? your definition on where the promotions are over promoted is simply childish. The game is designed for the promotions grind, i like to play it that way, i don't feel like making every HB run a big deal where i need to have certain characters and have people play a certain specific way all the time. Promotions gives me more leeway.Having said that, i play the way i want to play and this inane distinction that you and other underpromoted are fond of making is pretty floral speeches. If you like to play it that way that's is fine but don't make it into us vs them scenario, it is getting old at this point when DAMP is nearly done.

You clearly have an agenda as well and you seem to have fun taking my posts out of context so you can criticize them. Let me explain.

I was replying to this:

Team composition mentioned in this post is extremely risky at low/moderate promotions and has been thoroughly tested by myself and a few others. In no way can this team composition lead to an easy win ("easily done") without high promotions ("I'm not over promoted"). I do have a childish opinion of overpromoted but I'm not willing to do the math so I don't really care.

They are weak just don't stay in a tight group. Key to win is a good lego a barrier and damage classes.

What's over promoted anyway I mean the difference of 150 wp and some one with 50 wp is like a hundred extra damage. ... 100 con is 500 health that's like 3 extra hits... the games been out for almost a year if you're still weak don't take it out in the forumd to people who promote. Especially after admittedly cheating.

150 willpower = 70% magic defense and +70% attack

50 willpower = 20% magic defense and +20% attack

100 con = 45% melee defense and + 450 health

You do the math, but it's much, much more than 3 extra hits. I think kmeeg graphed the effective Health pool when taking into consideration magic defense / melee defense and at the 80% cap you're closer to 6000 effective HP.

If con is 5 health where do you get your numbers? All in all You didn't respond to the part about the game being out for a almost a year so why are people that played since launch still weak?

I have not played since launch. I got into the MP part of DA:I on December, 21st - the last day of the first weekend challenge. I had played few weeks of SP only before venturing into MP.

The reason people are "weak" is subjective, but I guess some just don't play as many hours as others do. I have about 2,100 hours of MP alone (which got me about 900 promotions), plus a few hundred hours of SP. Some people who have played since launch may not have played this many hours.
Also, some players take promotions/efficient XP farming seriously (and I could say that I do) while others do not. And definitely there are more factors that could affect some veteran players being "weak", such as motivation, boredom, lack of teams, breaks, other games, real life, among others - some of which affect even me.

I actually wanted to give a small update on this thread. We (thanks to devos6, leynaline and thebearmuse!) tried to test whether or not the premise was true (slowed + chilled + slow dancing should stack) but the results aren't really clear.

Short answer: Chilled and Slowed do not seem to stack. Slow Dancing seems to. Slowed + Slow Dancing however not too effective.

Long answer:

1. Chilled and Slowed do not seem to stack. One possibility is that the game chooses whichever has the highest value (50% or 25%).

2. Slow Dancing, unlike Chilled and Slowed, doesn't appear as a status effect while watching from the Fade (just like Pitch Grenade or DF).

3. Slow Dancing seems to stack with Chilled or Slowed.

4. However, leaving enemies with 30% (or more) movement speed and full attack speed (note: Chilled, Slowed and Slow Dancing do not affect attack speed) still leaves too much mobility for the enemies.

There are still interesting combos that we haven't tried out, such as Pitch Grenade + Caltrops, but more testing is needed.

P.S. I don't think any more testing will be done for now.
