I know im jumping the gun a bit.  But I was thinking if Bioware does make ME5, should they contintue it in Andromeda, or return to the Milky Way??

One one hand I want to see the ME Milky Way again, because that is where this franchise originated, and is where the ME races live.  However the ME3 endings throws some rocks into that bird.

There is a possibile chance (though not a big one) of a prequel, but for various reasons, it seems a lot of fans would hate that idea.

Because a lot of prequels these days are not that good.....the name has been tarnshed.

Personally I think a prequel could work if done well (maybe instead of dealing with a galactic issue, make the game more "local").

However it seems fans (generally speaking) want to move to the future instead of the past.

So I think there is more of a chance of Bioware in the future not making one of the endings to ME3 canon, and also not making a prequel, leaving the Milky Way in the dust, for good game wise (maybe we will see future books, comics set in MW), keeping their eyes on the future of Andromeda.

What do you think?

Do you want them to keep making games in Andromeda, never to return to the Milky Way?

Or should Bioware find a way in the future, to make another exticing and great game in the "homeland" of Mass Effect?

I think I'd rather see them break from the "main games" so to speak and do some smaller games or episodic mass effect titles. That way it kind of acts as a break from a full title, or lets them keep some Mass Effect going if other IP's become Bioware's main focus. Taking place in smaller events, or day in the life of so & so kind of thing. Be cool to play an alien bartender, scavenger looking for a prothean relic, a normal spectre, one of those early biotics in the same group Alenko was in, any number of things... So the Milky Way, Andromeda, empty space, wherever gets us to someone & someplace interesting.

1-3: Milky Way
4-6: Andromeda
7-9: Pegasus

It is fundamentally similar to Star Wars...
1-3: Old Republic era
4-6: Rebellion era
7-9: New Republic era

Shouldn't Bioware reach out to Telltale for that?

Depends on if the rumors of going to Triagulum in ME7 are correct or not.

Milky Way post RGB is out of the question, Bioware will never go for it for same reasons N7 will infest Andromeda now.

As for location of MEnot5 if it will exist at all, probably Andromeda. If they mess something again there is multitude of other galaxies to choose from anyhow.

Either or but I really want BioWare to be grown up enough, own up to their mistakes, and clean up the mess they left in the Milky Way galaxy.

But I truly doubt that'll ever happen.

If Andromeda is successful enough to merit a sequel wouldn't it make sense to follow up on the protagonist, characters, and story from that game?

Personally I hope that if there is a sequel they stick to their guns - they've decided to follow a new story in another galaxy; I'd like to see how that develops personally without canonising an ending to ME3. They chose to give us those endings, I hope they're brave enough not to back away from them more than they already have done, even though I don't like them.

It'll be Andromeda.

Agreed it'll most likely be Andromedfa as I suspect it'll end up being another multi part story like the first ME trilogy was

Andromeda's Helius Cluster is all we need with any new game, as long as the studio avoids galaxy wide or Cluster wide catastrophies.

Bio can make the size of the cluster as big as they want... 100k to 500k . That's a lot of space, stars, civilizations and room for plenty of stories.

For example:

Assuming this is the story of humanity carving out its place from a colony world to an empire of 500 world+ in the Cluster, Bio can find all kinds of stories, key moments in its history that could have gone the other way. Why would you want to go back to the MW?

We're going to Andromeda. There is no point in building an entire galaxy, if you are just going to discard it again right away. We'll be staying in Andromeda for the foreseeable future.

Something that's 100-500kly is no longer a cluster but a galaxy. The Milky Way is 100kly across and Andromeda 220kly across.

No preference. But the story writings should be better and it does not have to be Hollywood crap.
