That's something I've noticed a lot of us have in common. We finish the game at unholy times in the morning, go WTF, then go to bed.

I was like this last year.... it was horrible. I don't know that I have to physically choose the ending.. I just walk straight ahead and kinda like... waiting for another cutscene where I choose my ending....

I'm not going to lie, I finished the game at around 3am, and through a combination of tiredness and bamboozlement, I stumbled into the DNA-rape beam as well....
Even given the lateness of the hour, I still had to fire up the auto save and put things right.

It's best to let Marauder Shields win the game for you. The pain and anguish you are saved by that brave soldier is worth a few bullet holes.
