Liara kind of came on strong from the getgo. It's always been that way.

It's only better in ME1 because you could tell her off.

Either way, I don't know why they tried so hard with that character.

why? you dont like her?.. i think she's the only one from the crew that can actually have a chance (if the developers wanted to) to make an appearance in the new game :)

1. I like Liara

2. Maybe because she was the alien LI.

I don't mind her. I just mean they tried too hard to produce a sense of closeness with her. It was a little better in ME1, when you could draw a line and tell her to back off.

Liara had the personality of toast, imo. The whole making her shadow broker thing only made it more evident. It always seemed ridiculous to me that they went that route with her. I understand why they did it but they didn't really pull that off too well. Maybe if I played the dlc it would've sold it better for me? Idk. But as a whole, even though I did romance her, she was a boring character. Therefore, her blue ass better not be back. Lol

ME3 with it having Liara working in a Prothean ruin and looking for a means to stop the reapers is what she should've been doing in the second game.

I think that is purely because she was the one LI from the first game that either gender could romance. So if you are going to "force one she is the best choice.

A lot of the writing was like this. I kind of think they were hedging their bets on keeping too a import based game vs a forced canon. Sell some themes heavily enough to get a acceptable canon. Geth conflict. Could they have sold the pro geth line any harder. Krogan genophage could they have sold the cure the genophage line any more? Synthesis holy god did they try to sell that train wreck of a idea.

I think it was all just in case they were told to make a ME4 that directly followed 3 instead of side stepping it with Going to another galaxy. And for each game a similar idea was hedged against. If we can't import this because it's a new generation of machines or it breaks this story point we should have a canon that is least objectionable.
